DON’T
• Focus on technology over
the business and human
need
• Just go for “quick wins”
based on vendors’ use
cases
• Go without a proper cost-
benefit analysis
DO
• Bring the right people to the
table – align engineering and
data science
• Assess capabilities and use cases
– do you have enough data?
• Design prototypes and
architecture – human interfaces
are important
• Test value in the real world – fail
fast
• Keep going!

Enterprises around the world who are deploying, trialing and planning AI projects are now in the majority. Although only about 10% are deploying it in their businesses. Today, I would like to look at what business leaders are learning to get an AI project from a cool demo to a live production stage delivering benefits to the business..
Note: Ovum published their ICT Enterprise Insights at the beginning of 2017, evaluating enterprises’ ICT investment priorities and strategies for 2018, with a focus on both deployment lifecycle and application of AI. Findings are based on interviews with 6,300+ senior ICT decision-makers across more than 60 countries in 3Q and 4Q 2017.
You need to plan for connected intelligence. You need to strategically look at your entire business when embarking on a transformation journey – with the end game in mind, requires teaming up with a strategic partner that brings together the following elements.
The ability to partner with you around your entire business transformation – not just select LOB’s. The fact that new emerging technologies are natively embedded directly into the business processes and applied for outcomes – not just a toolset, where you are stuck with the heavy and costly lifting of delivering on the promise, requiring additional lead time to impact and the need for costly data scientist to pull this off. Cloud is the innovation engine that allows us to bring the newest features at all times and consequently keep you ahead of the curve.
The fact that all offerings are written around the same common data model, so that data flows seamlessly between all applications, eliminating the need for costly data warehousing bridges and consequently high TCO propositions.
And most importantly – no lead time for you to start benefiting from our innovation platform. It is ready today, not somewhen down the road to help you shape your tomorrow, today.

TALKING POINTS:
And last, but certainly not the least, having a clear data and AI strategy. You have heard us talk extensively over the course of Oracle Open World about the need to rethink what’s possible today, and create your tomorrow based on this. Data is the digital gold as they say, and I could not agree more – you can’t possibly have enough data, and this is inclusive of your in-house data, but also acquired data to drive contextual experiences. This, paired with the enterprise readiness of AI and ML drives completely new conversations and opportunities on how to run your business and literally changes everything we thought possible. That said, be very thoughtful on how to architect your journey with security in mind. Cybersecurity is a very important topic to us here at Oracle and we seek to safeguard this connected intelligence that is of utmost importance for future success.
AUTONOMOUS CONFIDENCE
DATA-DRIVEN TO INTELLIGENCE_DRIVENFINANCIAL AGILITY:
Through recommended actions and optimized supplier relationships
AI promises a lot – Key for enterprises is to embrace it with the right approach
Since AI is so potentially powerful, I think it's useful to step back and think in terms of "rules of the road".
First, the better we get at integrating vast amounts of data, the better our AI will deliver smarter outcomes, and do it sooner.
(click)
We want our recommendations to be delivered at the time a decision has to be made -- in context and easy to consume. That will speed adoption.
(click)
We'll want our AI connected across multiple functions. "Big picture" AI will be more useful than narrow use cases.
(click)
We'll want our AI to be transparent and accountable -- just like with people. Trust has to be earned.
(click)
And, of course, no one can start over again. We'll want to work with what we already have.
Unique to Bloodhound – education is a very important part of the world record project
Schools all over the world have taken part in talks, model rocket car projects and workshops, national rocket car challenges and competitions
Record attempt scheduled for Q4 2019
BLOODHOUND SSC will be flown to Northern Cape, South Africa, in May 2019, for 500mph high speed tests. A record attempt will be made later in the year (October – November). The car will remain in South Africa between events
