BUSINESS SITUATION
The client is a leading health care insurance payer operating in
and around Kansas. Primarily, the insurance claims sent by
brokers, insurance providers, clearing houses, and other
networks, are processed by the client’s team, and payouts are
done accordingly.
Insurance claim processing requires high levels of accuracy, and
fine scrutinizing of the available data. The success of the client’s
business relies on how effectively the verification process is
done, and how fast the operational transactions happen. Apart
from being tedious, the handling of incoming claims can get
delayed due to redundant steps, and poorly automated tasks.
The client, being among the most revered in their industry
wanted to clean up their processing style, and imbibe latest
technological aids to fasten up and smarten up their operations.
The major issue to tackle was claim segregation. Since the client
got 2000+ paper claims from various sources each day, it was
extremely challenging to segregate them based on different
groups or PPO networks.
Another issue that hindered the operations was that there was
no definite method followed to keep track of the status of each
claim that was being processed. Every time this information was
needed, the database had to be consulted. This did not just add
on to the processing time, but also resulted in redundant checks
and unclear claim status.
Adjudicating high dollar insurance claims was the other issue
that the client struggled with. A lot of time and effort had to be
invested on the verification process, which made it simply
impossible to wrap up the tasks in time. Furthermore, when
claimants came back with additional information for accident,
DME, surgery claims and so on, the client had no easy way to
keep a tab on them, and recognize them as closed or held up.
Also, while addressing claimant queries, the client’s customer
service executives struggled to retrieve the adjudicated claim
copies. It required a lot of manual effort to segregate the
images, and load everything to the real time server for making it
available on the CSR.
Thus the client was looking for alternate solutions to address
the segregation, claim status, adjudication and information
retrieval issues.

automatically sends a bill request letter, on behalf of the
client, to the provider. On receiving the itemized bills, the
client forwards them to Vee Technologies. The dedicated

item of the bill to point out any non covered drugs or
services. The result of the review is sent to the client’s
high committee review team. The entire set of claims
sent to Vee Technologies is documented, and detailed

intrusion, users need to give authenticating data before
