The Blessing of Animals!
Please join us today at 12:30 pm for the annual
service of the Blessing of Animals. This service
takes place near the Feast Day of St. Francis of
Assisi, and it celebrates the wonderful diversity of
God’s creation. Refreshments for two-legged and
four-legged animals will be served afterwards. All
are welcome.

Free Sunday parking is available on Sunday mornings (up to
1:30 pm) at the public parking lot, just across from the church
on Heath Street. Stamp your parking ticket using the church
address stamp found on the table at the Bell tower door.
After Church go to the customer service office with your
validated ticket where you will be given an exit ticket. Please
park only on the lower levels.

the 10 am service.
The Nest (certified childcare for infants to age 4) is open

Sunday Children’s Programs
The Nest is our certified childcare program designed for
children under the age of 4. The Nest opens prior to the 10:00
service in our nursery space on the third floor. Tuta Shurdha
is our certified Nest coordinator, and she is accompanied by a
volunteer parent or teen assistant. If you would like to use this
service, please ask one of the sidespeople to direct you to the
Nest.
PromiseLand is our church school for children from the ages
of 5 to 12. The children meet in the church at 10:00 am, and
then move to the St. Nicholas Chapel during the opening
hymn. Natalie Kemp is our Director of Children’s Education,
and would be happy to tell you more about Promiseland.
YAL – Young Anglican Leaders meet regularly for learning,
fellowship, food and fun. Please speak with Natalie Kemp for
more details about YAL.

Re-Imagining Church: Shaped for Mission – this 5-week
course will be offered in Elliott Hall on Tuesdays from 7:00-
9:00 pm beginning October 15th
. The course will be taught by
our Area Bishop, the Right Reverend Patrick Yu, and the
Reverend Susan Bell, the Archbishop’s Officer for Mission.
The content of the course compliments the work that we
have been doing as a parish to re-imagine our church in a
changing culture. Please consider attending these 5 evenings.

Thank you so much for the wonderful farewell party. Thank
you all for your best wishes and gifts. I am truly touched by
your kindness. I feel so privileged to have been a part of the
Christ Church Deer Park community. I will miss you all very

after 24 years as CCDP’s parish administrator.)
Harvest Thanksgiving will be celebrated next Sunday,
October 13th
. If you would like to contribute seasonal fruits
and vegetables for the decoration of the church, please bring
them to the sacristy by next Friday. After Thanksgiving, these
items will be donated to the Churches-on-the-Hill Food Bank.
Challenging Christianity meets on Friday, October 18, from
12:00 noon until 1:30 pm, in the Arthur Smith Room, to
continue discussing "Your God is too small."
Christmas Fair: Our annual Christmas Fair
