1. The Navigator Institute
Our Mission is to bring all aspects of an organization into
alignment, for noble purpose and business results.
The Navigator Institute identifies, trains, and develops the
natural "change-makers" in any organization. These people form
effective core planning and implementation groups, and become the
"right people" to create cultural change and successful projects.
“I thought you would appreciate some great feedback. You may recall our target of £100m in
profit in three years, and you may even remember how some of the Team thought I was on
drugs and this was mission impossible! Well, the good news is I am pleased to say we hit it a
year earlier than expected, which is fantastic news, and I would like to thank you for your
positive contribution and involvement in achieving this.”

2. TEN SUCCESS STORIES
1. Over 13 months, the Enterprise Technology division of a Global IT company
reduced 1500 disparate products across five countries into one coherent
product, with great harmony in the face of a corporate culture that had been
divisive and segmented.
2. The Canadian Division of a global food manufacturer saved 28 million dollars
in eight months, and prevented the closing of several plants, despite their
high cost of production in an underutilized manufacturing system.
3. A British global consumer goods plant doubled machine efficiencies, thought
to be impossible, and created a culture in which nearly everyone was
enthusiastic.
4. Two international shipping lines merged with savings of approximately 18
million dollars from combining sales forces and customer services, making
use of one computer system, and combining ship management under one
directorate.
5. A Canadian national building products company integrated several faltering
companies into one, with a positive culture and profitable operations in less
than three years.
6. A top UK diesel engine maker created a committed and bold business plan in
a new US Division, in only three weeks. Typical time for such an
accomplishment between similar company groups was eight months.
7. A US-UK car manufacturer dramatically improved quality ratings on a very
successful vehicle in a four-week period, while still meeting its schedule for
introduction into a new market.
8. An automotive engineering organization reported a 20% improvement in
revenues and a dramatic improvement in their efficiency of utilizing test
beds. Their previous best was a 5% growth rate.
9. A US Air Force Base, over six months, reorganized a 20,000-person human
resource system with previously unheard-of grass roots support.
10. During a six-month program of training and coaching, a group of sales
consultants in the wireless communications industry brought about an extra
17 million dollars in sales, created an extraordinarily effective team culture,
and reported surprising personal and professional growth.
3. Navigating From the Future:
The Quantum Results Program
A one-year program, designed & delivered
inside a company’s strategy & objectives.
This program is special in four ways:
1. It is tied to achieving specific business results that are out of reach by today’s
standards.
2. It is based on intended results; the program focuses on leadership competencies
that are most needed at the time.
3. The program is integrated with professional executive coaching.
3. Typically, the return on the program has ranged from 10 to 100 times its cost.
This program is founded on three principles:
1. Noble Purpose and Business Purpose in tandem empower people to be all they
can be and do all they can do.
2. Companies with the most energy in focus prevail.
3. Tying program effectiveness to business results that are out of reach by today’s
standards is the best way to embed necessary leadership skills and behaviors.
4. Our promises for the one-year Quantum Results Program:
1. This program will return a minimum of ten times its cost.
2. Individuals and teams will achieve quantum results, even if they do not appear
possible at the outset.
3. Participants will begin a sustainable and committed process of personal
leadership development.
4. The framework and heartbeat of the program will be the results to which
managers have committed.
5. Participants will leave sessions with enthusiasm, energy and increased
confidence for the challenges they face individually and together.
6. Participants will learn how to reliably turn problems into breakthroughs.
7. Participants will learn to operate from an exceptional level of commitment and
resourcefulness.
8. Participants will learn to manage effective, committed-based conversations.
9. Individuals will greatly improve their ability to enlist others in their projects.
An Overview of Our Process
The Quantum Results Program is focused on the pursuit and achievement
of mission-critical objectives. The program experience is rigorous, highly
interactive, thoughtful and fun.
1. Four 3-day offsite sessions are spread over 10-12 months, for a maximum of 25
participants.
2. Each participant will write and present a detailed “Quantum Project Mandate”
prior to the first session which must be accepted by the course leaders and
company leaders.
3. The first 3-day session is a combination of education in Navigating from the
Future practices and a thorough reformulation of each participant’s individual
“Mandated Quantum Project.”
4. The subsequent three 3-day sessions are work-based and consist of coaching
and training aimed at:
Keeping the Quantum Results moving forward.
5. Keeping each participant going beyond their own limits as a leader and
in their own sense of themselves.
Extending and improving the enrollment of others in action that
forwards the projects.
Surfacing obstacles and dilemmas, coming to understand their root
causes, and generating action to stimulate extraordinary improvement.
Reformulation of the projects and team activity consistent with absolute
adherence to Commitment to the Quantum Result.
Using all of the above as grist for the mill of leadership and personal
development for every participant.
5. Periodic personal coaching contacts are scheduled between each participant and
program staff between sessions.
6. Assigned readings, case studies, and focused tasks are completed between
sessions.
Necessary Conditions for Success of the
Quantum Results Program:
Consistent focus on outcomes and results from the program staff,
participants, and company leadership.
Full support and appropriate involvement from relevant senior
management.
Intensive “breakthrough” coaching of selected participants between
sessions.
A constant focus on specified results, clear identification of key
performance metrics, and a commitment to resolve the inevitable
problems that arise when a Quantum Result is targeted.
Limit of 25 participants.
Mandated Quantum Result Projects can be proposed for six months, or up
to two years, so long as they are consistent with the results that have
been committed during the course of the program.
Each person needs to participate voluntarily rather than be told they must
attend.
Formal sessions are to be held offsite in pleasant circumstances, isolated
from everyday operations.
