Has oído hablar de funciones lineales, funciones cuadráticas y funciones
exponenciales. También conoces la notación de las funciones, que suele ser f(x)
F(x) es la relación entre x e y. Pero, ¿y si quieres ver la relación
entre el valor x de una función y el valor y de otra función?

5. ¿Qué son?
Imagina que diriges una pequeña empresa. Tienes dos funciones esenciales
que impulsan tus operaciones:
f(x) representa la cantidad de
dinero que ganas en función de
tus ventas
g(x) representa el inventario
que puedes comprar en función
de la cantidad de dinero que
tienes

6. Ahora bien, aquí está el truco
El éxito de tu empresa depende de que entiendas cómo trabajan juntas estas funciones.
Aquí es donde entran en juego las funciones compuestas. Te ayudan a responder:
¿Cuánto inventario puedo comprar si
gano una determinada cantidad de
dinero?
¿Cuáles son mis ingresos totales si
compro una determinada cantidad de
inventario?

8. Guía paso a paso
Entonces, ¿te preguntarás cómo construimos este puente? Es más sencillo de lo que
crees. Aquí tienes una guía paso a paso
Escribe la función por fuera (f de g(x))

Cuando hablamos de "f de g(x)", queremos decir que estamos aplicando la
función **f** a la función **g(x)**. Empieza escribiendo **f(g(x))**, que
representa la composición de funciones
Sustituye todos los valores de x por la función del interior

Este paso es como encajar las piezas de un puzzle. Sustituye cada **x**
en **f(x)** por **g(x)**. Obtendrás algo parecido a **f(g(x))**

Por ejemplo, si f(x) representa tus ganancias y g(x)representa tu
inventario, podrías tener una función compuesta como esta:

cantidad de dinero que tienes
Vuelve a introducir el resultado en f

Toma el resultado del paso 1 y utilízalo como dato de entrada de
f(x) para averiguar cuánto dinero ganarás en función de tu
inventario
