Mobile Workforce Management is undergoing a disruptive transformation, driven by heightened
expectations of customers for enhanced, real-time delivery of goods and services. Companies,
ranging from cable and telecommunications operators to leading retailers and other home
services companies can no longer rely on outmoded ways of interacting and communicating
with customers to manage appointments. Nor can they continue a “silo” approach to mobile
workforce management that focuses on optimizing the work flow and work order process,
while not taking into account the integral customer interactions that drive intelligence
dispatching, routing and scheduling. In order to achieve a higher level of optimization for their
mobile employees, as well as improved customer satisfaction, companies are embracing more
holistic technologies that unify the workflow and customer appointment processes.
Managing a mobile workforce can be chaotic. Work orders change, traffic flow changes, appointment windows change;
everything is in flux. What if you could schedule and track your mobile employees based on these changing conditions? What
if you could update your customers on actual arrival times by sending them an email, text or automated call? Suddenly, your
efficiencies would improve, your operation costs would fall and your customers would be more satisfied.
Strategic Workforce Management (if it was easy, everyone would do it)Brandon Hall Group
The concept of strategic workforce management is everywhere today, but what does it really mean for your organization? Are your systems and processes ready to be strategic? After email, workforce management systems are often the most frequently accessed applications, but not all organizations are using them to their full potential. These systems are uniquely positioned to not only help you deploy your workforce and ensure compliance, but measure performance and improve productivity, agility and efficiency. Mollie Lombardi, Vice President and Principal Analyst for Brandon Hall Group's Workforce Management Practice and Ted Frederick, Vice President, Workforce Management at SumTotal discussed:
-The evolution of workforce management– from improving accuracy and compliance to enabling strategic decision-making
-How to build the right culture and processes around your workforce management solution to ensure strategic impact
-How to achieve competitive advantage by leveraging workforce data and interactions the workforce management system to foster learning and communication
-Critical steps you can take today – without changing systems or purchasing technology – to start to get more strategic value out of your workforce management efforts
