Lean in HE- Improving MBA student recruiting process4Janyce B Fadden
This document describes how the University of North Alabama MBA program used value stream mapping to improve the efficiency of their student recruiting and admissions process. They mapped the current "present state" process, which identified significant waste and inefficiencies, such as GPA calculations taking over an hour per applicant and 52 students not actively working on prerequisite requirements. Their goal was to create a more efficient, student-centered "future state" process inspired by Amazon's customer service model. Changes implemented from the value stream mapping included streamlining GPA calculations, redesigning prerequisite requirements, and tracking applicants through a CRM system. These process improvements led to incremental gains in efficiency and a 15% increase in new MBA enrollments over the prior year
Environment, nutrition, enrichment, a parrot's wild nature, and the unique physical design of a parrot's anatomy all act together to influence your companion’s behavior. Explore how you can help your parrot live a happier and healthier life in your home
The document discusses how parrots are often given up due to life changes and inability to maintain good behavior in the parrot. It notes that modern life involves more job and family changes than in the past. It emphasizes that training is needed to have a well-behaved parrot through positive reinforcement, understanding body language, and asking rather than making the parrot do things. The document recommends target training, stepping up, crate training, bathing, and nail clipping as helpful behaviors to teach parrots.
The document compares different stages of a relationship to mobile network providers, with life before marriage likened to Airtel where one can freely express themselves, the honeymoon phase compared to Reliance where partners are always in touch, and after the honeymoon the relationship is like Hutch where a person's partner's network follows them wherever they go. After one year of marriage life is said to be like Idea where a partner can change one's life, and after 10 years it is likened to BSNL where the subscriber is not reachable. Divorce is compared to Tata where one can do more and live more, experiencing the difference.

ICAWC 2015 - The Power of Play - Alasdair BunyanDogs Trust
Play can be used as a highly valuable reinforcement, but in order to use play in our training a greater awareness of breed specific play styles and canine communication must be understood.
Alasdair will discuss the importance of play, play styles, appropriate and inappropriate play and thoughts on motivation and how to use play as reinforcement to both the handlers and dog’s benefit.
The document provides advice from various notable figures on topics like success, failure, relationships, judgment, and wisdom. Some of the key points expressed are: know more than others to succeed; do not compare yourself to others as it can be insulting; winning means improving over your past efforts; failure provides lessons on what does not work; and do not blindly believe things but use reason and observation to determine what is true.

Common elements include rice, flatbreads like naan, lentils, vegetables, and curries made with coconut, dairy, or other regional ingredients. Manners also differ by region but most Indian meals are eaten with the hands rather than utensils. Popular beverages include tea, coffee, and lassi.
This was originally a 3ft x 4ft poster made for the India Night 2006 at the Oregon State University (OSU). I have split it into several parts to make a presentation. Dogs are considered man's best friend because humans have kept them as pets for a long time, even as family members. In Maya culture, dogs were seen as divine beings and placed in graves to guide people to heaven. While small dogs are sometimes seen as toys, they need love and play just like all dogs. Big dogs also need love and play, not just for security, and can work as police dogs or assist blind people. Many street dogs were once pets but were abandoned or became lost. Dogs are described as loyal and pretty.
Birds have several key features that help them survive and thrive. They have wings that allow most birds to fly, lightweight hollow bones, and claws and feet adapted for their environments and diets. Birds also have beaks suited to their food sources - some have crushing beaks, others curved or probing beaks. Their bodies are streamlined for flight and many have specialized leg and foot structures for swimming, wading, or perching.
Coffee production involves planting coffee seeds which grow into trees bearing coffee cherries. Ripe cherries are harvested and processed to remove the bean which is then dried. Common coffee drinks are prepared by brewing or extracting coffee beans using various methods like espresso, drip, or Turkish style. Popular coffee drinks around the world include lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, frappes and others that combine coffee with milk and flavors.
1) The document highlights several people who hold unusual and peculiar world records in the Guinness Book of World Records 2016 edition, such as the largest feet, most consecutive stairs climbed on the head, and most hamburgers eaten in three minutes.
2) It describes various odd records like the oldest abseiler at age 101, largest carrot and cauliflower, and fastest time wearing clogs.
3) The records presented cover a wide range of domains including gardening, food eating, physical feats, animal abilities, and unusual collections like gnomes.
A natural disaster is a major event caused by natural hazards that affects the environment and leads to financial, environmental, and human losses. Common natural disasters include floods, tsunamis, tornadoes, hurricanes, cyclones, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, heatwaves, droughts, wildfires, landslides, blizzards, ice storms, and avalanches. Earthquakes, floods, and volcanic eruptions are among the natural disasters that cause the most deaths. Natural disasters can have significant individual, community, economic, and environmental impacts. While not all natural disasters can be prevented, understanding ecology and taking strategies from nature can help lessen their effects.
Disasters can be natural or man-made. Natural disasters include cyclones, earthquakes, tornados, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, floods, wildfires, droughts, avalanches, and landslides. Man-made disasters involve human elements like negligence, intent, or technological failures and include nuclear bombings, acts of terrorism, and oil spills. The document then provides examples and details of some specific major natural and man-made disasters that have occurred throughout history.
