Fire Maintenance Engineer [site-NBC Abuja, Apapa and Ikeja plant]
Experience
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly checks on all gate valves, pressure
relief valves, landing valves, ball valves, pillar hydrant, fire hose reel
cabinets, fire hose reel, local alarm valve, gauges, jockey pump,
electrical pump and diesel pump in the plant.
• Conduct weekly and monthly test on the diesel and electrical pump as
stated by the PLP standard
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly checks on main alarm panel or
central alarm panels, blasters, manual call points, sounders, heat and
smoke detectors, surveillance panel.
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly checks on the suppression system
panel, master gas cylinder, slave gas cylinder, manual and electrical
actuator, smoke and heat detectors installed in the electrical panel
rooms.
• Monitor the pressure in the pipe to make sure it is at the required
standard pressure bar [8bar] at every time.
• Visual check the conditions of sprinkler systems installed in the plant.
• Prepare the whole system fit and ready for external auditing.

3. • Work with the safety manager to site all potential fire hazard on site
• Organize seminars in collaboration with the safety team to enlighten
workers about the fire facilities i.e the whole system
• Reading the main alarm panel display information in time of fire
accident to get the location of the accident and easily stop such fire at
it incumbent stage alongside the plant emergency response team.
• Investigating fire accident and prevention alongside the safety team in
the plant to prevent future re-occurrence and to determine the cause
of the accident.
• Submitting improvement memo to the plant on good prevention
scheme and better system management
• Participate actively during fire drill and training on the use of fire
infrastructures.
