2. DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGIES
From the mobile productivity to virtual reality, 2017 has proved to be a year of
disruptive technology for enterprises. Across a range of industries, managers and
business leaders alike have looked to emerging technologies to drive down costs,
improve the customer experience and boost employee satisfaction.
Samsung Galaxy is a series of mobile computing devices designed, manufactured
and marketed by Samsung Electronics.
The product line includes the Galaxy S series of high-end smartphones, the Galaxy
Tab series of tablets, the Galaxy Note series of tablets and phablets with the added
functionality of a stylus, and the first version of the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, with
later versions dropping the Galaxy branding.
3. In 1977 Samsung Electronics launched the Telecommunication Network, and in 1983 it
initiated its mobile telecommunications business. In 1986, Samsung was able to release its
first built-in car phone, the SC-100, but it was a failure due to the poor quality.
In November 1993, the development team finally unveiled a new model, the SH-700.
This model was quite remarkable. Each product manufactured was tested piece-by-
piece to assure perfect quality.
In October 1994, the SH-770 was introduced under the brand name "Anycall". It was a
result of the marketing team's effort at brand-building.
4. In first quarter of 2012, Samsung
became world’s largest mobile phone
maker by unit sales, overtaking Nokia,
which had been the market leader
since 1998
In third quarter of 2012, it sold 98
million phones, of which 55 million
were smartphones.
Samsung Electronics is pushing ahead
to find new revenue streams with the
Internet of Things (IoT), mobile health
and mobile payment sectors. Its new
California technology center is leading
the way.
