This book has a lot of pictures and each page has one picture with text beneath.
Whilst some have one image covering the whole page and on the page next to it,
is the text.

3. Pictures
• Lots of different colours.
• Busy but not complicated so there is a lot to look at.
• Full of different angles and shapes.

4. Text
The font for this book is New Times Roman which is easy to read and also
looks good in the context of a children's book. The text is kept to a minimum
in the book which gives the reader more time to focus on the images the are
very detailed and well drawn.
5. Hairy Maclary Scattercat
Hairy Maclary Scattercat uses the layout of one picture and one line.
On one page is the Image for that page and on the next is the caption
for the previous page’s image.
Hairy Maclary Scattercat was written by Lynley Dodd and published by
Puffin.
6. Pictures
The pictures in this book are illustrations that look like they have been hand drawn
with pencils. This is a really good technique for a children’s book as they would
usually
draw pictures using pencils and paper so that if a child sees the picture they instantly
recognize the drawing style.
7. Text
• Hairy Maclary Scattercat has used the font New Times Roman. Which is very easy
to read so that when the child develops their reading skills, they can easily pick up
this book and start reading without having to constantly ask for help.
8. Peace at Last
The layout for this book is very similar to the previous book but one on page it
has the text with a very small illustration which isn’t coloured in and then
the page next to it has one large coloured in image.
9. Pictures
The illustrations in this boom are very clear and
full of different shades and drawing styles. Some
of the pictures have patterns in them that look
like they could’ve been made on a computer
whereas some of the images look like they were
hand drawn.
10. Text
Just like the last two books, Peace at Last
is written in Times New Roman. And the text has
a page for itself with the image on the next
page
