Verb TO - BE(SER O ESTAR)
The verb to be, which translates as Castilian BE or BE, in the English language has a
particular importance. Its meaning depends on the meaning of the sentence.
Forexample:
I am a doctor. Soy un doctor. (Se aplica como verbo ser)
I am in myhouse. Estoy en mi casa. (Se aplica como verbo estar)

"THERE TO BE"
Significa "haber", cuando nos referimos a que hay algo en cualquier sitio.
Este verbo tiene dos partes: "There" y el verbo "To Be" (en presente o en pasado).
La primera parte no cambia nunca. La segunda depende de que se esté hablando
de una sola cosa, persona o animal, o de varias. La palabra "THERE" tampoco se
traduce sola: ambas juntas significan "Hay" (presente simple) o "Había" (pasado
simple).
Sus formas son:
"THERE IS" (para singular). "THERE ARE" (para plural). Ambas
significan "Hay". Ejemplos:
"Thereis a bookonthetable" – “Hay un libro en la mesa”
"There are fivebooksonthetable" – “Hay cinco libros en la mesa”
"THERE WAS" (para singular). "THERE WERE" (para plural). Las dos
significan "Había". Ejemplos:
"Therewas a bookonthetable" – “Había un libro en la mesa”
"Therewerefivebooksonthetable" – “Había cinco libros en la mesa”
Para formar la negativa, el NOT se coloca detrás de la forma del verbo TO BE:
"Thereisnot a book".
Para la interrogativa, se cambia el orden de las dos palabras del verbo. Ejemplos:
Forma afirmativa: "Thereis a bookoverthere " – “Hay un libro allí”
Forma interrogativa: "Isthere a bookoverthere?" – “¿Hay un libro allí?”
