EL VERBO TO BE TIENE TRES FORMAS EN EL TIEMPO PRESENTE: AM-IS-ARE
SINGULAR PLURAL
Iam (yo soy/estoy) We are (nosotros/as somos o estamos)
You are ( tú eres/estás) You are (ustedes son/ estan)
He is (él es/está) They are (ellos/as son están)
She is (ella es/está)
It is (es está)
EXAMPLE
Iam study in the ISPED “Ciudad de San Gabriel”
We are going shopping Saturday
Mariela and Jorge are the Quito
They are nacional singer

2. FORM NEGATIVE THE VERB TO BE
AREN’T ARE NOT PERSONAL PLURAL
ISN’T IS NOT PERSONAL SINGULAR
EXAMPLE
We aren’t the ecological reserve
She is not in the Nacional Libertad school.
TIME PAST VERB TO BE WAS WERE
El vebo TO BE tiene las siguientes formas en el tiempo pasado: WAS WERE
I WAS Yo ere/estaba/fui/ estuve
YOU WERE Tú eras/estabas/fuieste/estuviste
HE WAS El era/estaba/fue/estubo
SHE WAS Ella era/estaba/fue/estuvo
IT WAS era/estaba/fue/estuvo
WE WERE Nosotros éramos/estábamos/fuimos.
YOU WERE Ustedes eran/ estaban/furon estuvieron/
THEY WERE Ellos/as estaban/fueron/estuvieron
EXAMPLE
My mother was in the cementery.
We were in the park yesterday.

3. NEGATIVE FORM VERB TO BE WAS WERE
La forma se expresa usando NOT despues de WAS WERE. Normalmente se usan las
contracciones WASNT O WERENT.
EXAMPLE:
Mayra wasn’t in class the Monday.
Antonio, Vilma, Washintong weren’t singers.
INTERROGATIVE FORM VERB TO BE
La forma interrogative se expresa invirtiendo el orden del WAS WERE con el sujeto.
EXAMPLE:
Was Juan in the birday yesterday.?
Were we in the center the computer.?
TIME FUTURE THE VERB TO BE
I will be Yo sere/estare
You will b e Tú seras /estaras
He will be El sera/estara
She will be Ella sera/estara
It will be Sera estara
We will be Nosotros seremos /estaremos
You will be Ustedes seran/estaran
They will be Ellos/as seran/estaran
Se puede usar las siguientes contracciones
I’ll be you’ll be he’ll be they’ll be

4. EXAMPLE:
We will be the tacher.
Salome will be the ennginier.
NEGATIVE FORM
La forma negativa se expresa usando la palabra NOT después del verbo modal WILL
normalmente se usa la contracción WONT.
EXAMPLE:
Mónica will not in the travel.
They won´t the future architect´s.
INTERROGATIVE FORM
La forma interrogative se expresa usando el verbo modal WILL o la contaccion WONT
delante del sujeto.
EXAMPLE:
How long will the teachers be in Latacunga.?
Will you in the office in 30 minutes?
