French naturalist of the late nineteenth century, representing the
academic style of the Belle Époque.Né in Dijon, Chocarne-Moreau
studied art in Paris, where he was a pupil of Tony Robert-Fleury and
academic painter William Bouguereau1. He began exhibiting at the show
of French artists fairly regularly from 1882.
