blet , making use of an appli-
cation. He stressed that "this
system of home device con-
trol through a Smartphone is
in 'pilot' and its commerciali-
zation should be completed
in a period of three months."
"We, however, propose that
the installation should be per-
formed by any person,
through an application availa-
ble at an affordable cost, so
the user will have control
over the On and Off functions
of the living room, kitchen,
bedrooms, etc."
Jose de Jesus Dzib said the
support and encouragement
of the members of the acade-
mic staff of the Faculty of En-
gineering made this idea pos-
sible. "Thanks to the training
and learning it was possible
to develop this type of tech-
nology," he added .
He said that regardless of
continuing his studies he and
his colleagues already have
an office in Mexico City whe-
re telephone companies have
included and offer them the
necessary support. He reca-
lled that this initiative was
already winning and it was
nationally recognized and has
even won awards as the
event " ICT America" ??and
said the device is also a fina-
list in a contest for business
innovation 2014 whose win-
ner will be announced
shortly.
"We also had the opportuni-
ty to go to Boston, specifically
the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology (MIT) in order
to participate in another con-
test also seeking support for
the company."
Mérida, Yucatán, May 20,
2014 -. Students of Mechatro-
nics Engineering at the Auto-
nomous University of Yucatan
(UADY) designed and manu-
factured a device for home
automation and energy effi-
ciency, which expects to be
marketed in three months.
This technological innovation
was created by José Dzib Sán-
chez, Moisés Armando Pech
Córdova y Henry Javier Se-
rrano Echeverría cofounders
of the company
"Vanderdroid".
Dzib Sanchez explained that
in addition to the automated
control in homes, the device
can exert control and care of
electronic devices and custo-
mize the use of any and all
facilities. To this end, stu-
dents of the Faculty of Engi-
neering designed new gene-
ration plates or dampers
which can be connected to a
router via WIFI system so that
anyone can use it.
"With this device, the ap-
pliances in the homes are
protected of potential over-
voltage," said the UADY stu-
dent adding that the devices
that are connected to their
gadget and can be controlled
from anywhere in the world
