2. Biografía
Ventura Rodríguez was born in Ciempozuelos
on the year 1717.
Su padre era profesor de arquitectura y a Ventura Rodriguez le gustaba
verle dibujar y ayudarle. Mientras ayudaba a su padre dio pruebas de una
fuerte y hábil inclinación hacia el dibujo.

3. In 1733, on the occasion of the transfer
of the court to Aranjuez, the architect
Filippo Juvara (in charge of the project
of the Royal Palace of Madrid) had
occasion to see some works of Ventura
Rodríguez, and asks the king to be
assigned as draftsman.
The Italian architect then became Ventura Rodríguez's teacher.
In 1741, Ventura Rodríguez already held the position of second rigger of the
Royal Palace of Madrid.

4. Ventura Rodríguez was able to acquire a deep knowledge of the architecture of
Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Francesco Barromini through the prints that
circulated among the architects of the court and the studies of their masters.
Heir, therefore, of the School of Rome, was refining his Baroque tastes to
follow a more Herrerian line.

6. In 1750 he received the commission for the remodeling and completion of the
Basilica del Pilar de Zaragoza.
In 1751 he married Rita de Garro.
In 1752 he was appointed director of architecture studies at the Royal Academy
of Fine Arts of San Fernando.
He married Micaela Santaman in 1765.
He died widowed in Madrid on August 26, 1785. His remains rest in the chapel of
the architects of the church of the city of San Sebastian

1: Palace of the Infante Don Luis
The Infante Don Luis palace is a
building located in the urban area of
the Madrid municipality of Boadilla del
Monte. The palace was built in 1765 by
Ventura Rodríguez, who conceived
one of the most important works of
Madrid's neoclassicism. In addition to
the building proper, the palace
integrates a fountain and a very
extensive garden and wild area east of
the central core of the population
9. 2: Fuente de Ventura Rodríguez
La fuente de Ventura Rodríguez,
también llamada de los Tres Caños, es
un monumento de estilo neoclásico,
situado en Boadilla del Monte. Fue
levantada en el último tercio del siglo
XVIII, a partir de un diseño del
arquitecto Ventura Rodríguez, de quien
toma su nombre. La fuente es uno de
los elementos más destacados del
jardín frontal del Palacio del Infante
Don Luis. Al igual que el citado edificio,
fue concluida en el año 1765.
10. 3: Iglesia de San Marcos
La iglesia de San Marcos es una iglesia
parroquial española situada en Madrid.
Debe su nombre y advocación a la
victoria de Felipe V en la batalla de
Almansa, que tuvo lugar el día de San
Marcos de 1707. El rey ordenó que
sustituyeran al pequeño oratorio de la
parroquia de San Martín. Aunque el
monarca había muerto en 1746, las
obras comenzaron en 1749 con Ventura
Rodríguez como arquitecto.
11. 4: Capilla del Palacio Real de Madrid
La Capilla Real es una capilla del Palacio
Real de Madrid y también una institución
ligada a la Casa Real Española. Forma parte
de la Corte de los reyes. Fue construida
entre 1750 y 1759. Fernando VI se
decantó por Ventura Rodríguez para que
diseñara los planos.
12. 5: Palacio de Liria
El Palacio de Liria es un gran palacio
madrileño del siglo XVIII.
Fue reconocido ya en su época como la
mejor mansión de la aristocracia
madrileña, solo superado por el Palacio
Real.
En la construcción del palacio de Liria
intervinieron, entre otros arquitectos, el
francés Louis Guilbert y Ventura
Rodríguez.
