Este documento explica los cinco tipos de oraciones condicionales en inglés. Describe cada tipo, incluyendo su estructura y ejemplos. El Tipo 1 se usa para situaciones posibles, el Tipo 2 para situaciones teóricas, y el Tipo 3 para situaciones no posibles. Los condicionales se usan para especular sobre lo que podría ocurrir dependiendo de si se cumple una condición.

2. LOS CONDICIONALES SE EMPLEAN PARA ESPECULAR ACERCA
DE LO QUE PODRÍA OCURRIR, LO QUE PUEDE HABER
OCURRIDO Y LO QUE DESEARÍAMOS QUE OCURRIESE, EN
POCAS PALABRAS LOS UTILIZAMOS PARA INDICAR QUE UNA
ACCIÓN DEPENDE DE OTRA Y TAMBIÉN PARA HABLAR SOBRE
SITUACIONES REALES O IRREALES.

3. DEBEMOS DE TENER EN CUENTA QUE LOS CONDICIONALES SON
EXPRESIONES UTILIZADAS MUCHO EN EL IDIOMA INGLES Y QUE
EXISTEN CINCO TIPOS DE ORACIONES CONDICIONALES, LAS
CUALES VAN DESDE EL TIPO -1 AL TIPO 3. ESTOS TIPOS DE
ORACIONES CONDICIONALES SON:
-Tipo -1 ordenes
-Tipo 0 Realidades científicas
-tipo 1 situaciones posibles
-tipo 2 situaciones teóricas
-Tipo 3 situaciones no posibles
4. TIPO -1 ORDENES
Se utiliza este tipo para dar ordenes condicionales según el cumplimiento de una acción.
Estructura: If + Present simple + Imperative
(si + presente simple + imperativo)
ejemplos:
If she tells you to go, let me know!
(si ella te dice que va, ¡avísame!)
If you are going to do the exhibition, speak well!
(si vas a hacer la exposición, ¡habla bien!)
If you learn to play, let me know!
(si aprendes a jugar, ¡me avisas!)
If you go out, close the door!
(si sales, ¡cierra la puerta!)
5. TIPO 0 REALIDADES CIENTÍFICAS
Se utiliza para expresar realidades científicas o empiricas, es decir cuando la condición es
verdadera.
Estructura: If + Present simple + present simple
(si + presente simple + presente simple)
ejemplos:
If I eat my body grows
(si yo como mi cuerpo crece)
If she take a shower she smells good
(si ella toma una ducha ella huele bien)
If I sleep my mind relaxes
(si yo duermo mi mente se relaja)
If he is running he reaches the finish line
(si él está corriendo él llega a la meta)
6. TIPO 1 SITUACIONES POSIBLES
Se utiliza para expresar sucesos o amenazas posibles de ocurrir.
Estructura: If + Present simple + future simple
(si + presente simple + futuro simple)
ejemplos:
If you practice soccer, you will go to the final
(si practicas futbol, pasaras a la final)
If he take a shower in the night he will get sick
(si el toma una ducha en la noche se enfermará)
If you kiss me you will fall in love
(si me besas te enamorarás)
If you drink coffe you will not sleep
(si tomas café no dormirás)
7. TIPO 2 SITUACIONES TEÓRICAS
Se utiliza para expresar una posibilidad irreal en el presente como deseos, sueños o para
acciones del futuro que no son tan probables.
Estructura: If + Past tense + would or could + infinitive
(si + tiempo pasado + would o could + infinitivo)
ejemplos:
If she loved you, she would give you love
(si ella te amara, te daría amor)
If he were here, he could defend you
(si el estuviera aquí, te podría defender)
If this phone was yours, you could love it
(si ese celular fuese tuyo, podrías amarlo)
If you drink coffe you will not sleep
(si tomas café no dormirás)
8. TIPO 3 SITUACIONES NO POSIBLES
Expresa situaciones del pasado que no han sucedido y que son posibles que puedan suceder en el presente.
Estructura: If + Past perfect + (would have) + past participle
(si + pasado perfecto + would have + participio pasado)
ejemplos:
If I had eaten enough, I would have gotten fat
(si yo hubiera comido bastante, me habría puesto gordo)
If he had trained a lot, he would have been the best in the world
(si él hubiera entrenado mucho, habría sido el mejor del mundo)
If I had graduated, I would have worked abroad
(si yo me hubiera graduado, habría trabajado en el extranjero)
If I had stayed awake, I would have seen the show
(si me hubiera quedado despierto, habría visto el espectáculo)
9. En conclusión los condicionales son ciertas estructuras del inglés en las
cuales, si cierta condición, situación o circunstancia es verdadera,
entonces sucede un resultado específico.
