Este documento explica los adjetivos comparativos y superlativos en inglés. Primero define los adjetivos y su uso para comparar dos objetos o personas. Luego explica cómo formar los adjetivos comparativos cortos agregando "ER" y los largos agregando "MORE". Finalmente, explica cómo formar los adjetivos superlativos agregando "EST" a los cortos y "THE MOST" a los largos para comparar con todo el mundo. Incluye ejemplos y ejercicios para practicar la formación de comparativos y superlativos.

Los adjetivos son
palabras que califican,
expresan una
caracteristica o
propiedad de otras
palabras.
Eg. Felix the cat is black.
Felix el gato es

Comparative Adjective Use
Los adjetivos comparativos comparan un
objeto, lugar o persona con otro objeto, lugar o
persona.
La comparación es sólo entre dos. 1:1 (uno
contra uno)
The mouse is smaller than the cat.
El ratón es más pequeño que el gato.
The cat is bigger than the mouse.
El gato es más grande que el ratón.

Short Comparative Adjective Use
Los adjetivos pueden dividirse entre cortos y largos.
A los adjetivos cortos debemos agregar la
terminación ER y THAN (MÁS QUE).
Today is colder than yesterday.
Hoy esta más helado que ayer.

A los adjetivos largos debemos agregar la palabra
MORE antes del adjetivo y THAN al final (MÁS...
QUE).

TIPS!
1. Si el adjetivo corto termina con Y, debemos cambiarla
por I y luego agregar ER y than.
Dry (Seco) Drier than (Más seco)
2. Si el adjetivo es corto, como thin, big o hot, que
terminan con una vocal y consonante, debemos
duplicar la última consonante y agregar ER y than.
Fat (Gordo) Fatter than (Más gordo que)
3. GOOD, BAD y FAR son adjetivos que cambian
totalmente.
Good (Bueno) Better than (Mejor que)
Bad (Malo) Worse than (Peor que)
Far (lejos) Farther than (Más lejos que)
