3. Verbo “To be”
El verbo “to be” en inglés es equivalente a los verbos “ser” y “estar” en castellano.
infinitivo: to be
presente: am / is / are
pasado: was / were
participio: been
Futuro: Will

4. Verbo “to be” - Presente Simple
Las oraciones afirmativas tienen la siguiente estructura:
Sujeto + Verbo to be + Complemento
Ejemplo:
1) I am a student - Soy estudiante.
2) You are in the concert - Estas en el concierto.
3) They are in my house. - Ellos están en mi casa.
4) She is a dreamer. - Ella es una soñadora.
5) We are at the cinema. - Estamos en el cine.
Las oraciones negativas tienen la siguiente estructura:
Sujeto + Verbo to be + not + Complemento
Ejemplo:
1) I am not your friend. - No soy tu amigo.
2) You are not good. - No eres bueno.
3) She is not a chef.- Ella no es una cocinera
4) He is not a genius. - El no es un genio.
5) We are not brothers. - No somos hermanos
Las preguntas tienen la siguiente estructura:
Verbo to be + Sujeto + Complemento + ?
1) Is she a singer? - Ella es cantante?
2) Are they your teachers? - Ellos son tus profesores?
3) Are you famous? - Eres famoso?
4) Is he an actor? - El es actor?
5) Is she a nurse? - Ella es enfermera?
