- 19. 36 Lenguaje de la Música OIDO ABSOLUTO Generalmente estas dos aptitudes no coexisten en los mismos individuos. Los que poseen audición absoluta activa suelen poseer también la pasiva, pero no sucede al revés. Según un es- tudio realizado, de los poseedores de oído absoluto examina- dos, sólo un 35% tienen oído absoluto activo. Para los sujetos con oído absoluto pasivo la relación del sonido con el timbre tiene un papel importante; es por ello que tiene dificultad a reproducir (recordar) sonidos vocales, pues son los sonidos más ricos en armónicos y más variables en cuanto a timbre. Los sujetos que tienen oído absoluto activo son capaces de recordar cualquier sonido, independientemente del timbre, por ello se manejan bien en la reproducción de sonidos vocales de altura prefijada. Los sujetos con oído absoluto pasivo reconocen mejor los soni- dos del piano que los de otro instrumento, pues aquellos pre- sentan una variación de timbre bastante estrecha. Tanto la tendencia al procesamiento indirecto del intervalo musical como la acomodación a la tonalidad de Do mayor las atribuimos a una determinada inclinación en nuestro entorno educativo hacia estos modos de procesamiento y de introduc- ciónen el sentido tonal. Salvo escasas excepciones, en nuestras escuelas de música no setrabaja la categorización interválica, nos encontramos en una cultura del "do fijo" y latonalidad de Do mayor invade la literatura musical de los primeros años de estudio. 27 Los sujetos con OA tienen dificultades para transportar. www.magxibz.com 37 Part 4 Es lógico si se defiende la tesis de que estas personas perciben los tonos y no las relaciones tonales, porque al transportar se cambian los primeros manteniéndose las segundas y, en algu- nos casos, la dificultad podría encontrarse, simplemente, en la diferencia entre los tonos escuchados y los escritos. Así, en los últimos veinte años se han barajado las posibilida- des de que el OA no sea una cualidad envidiable y la de que su posesión produzca ciertas desventajas desde el punto de vista musical. Por un lado, siguen realizándose investigaciones para conseguir la habilidad de OA incluso en personas adultas y, por otro, se comienzan a realizar estudios empíricos que demues- tran ciertas incapacidades de los sujetos con OA frente a los que carecen de esta habilidad. Comentaremos, finalmente, el estudio empírico realizado por Laucirica entre los años 95 y 97. Se trata de dos pruebas para medir la identificación absoluta, la identificación interválica y la relación entre ambas. La prueba de identificación absoluta del tono (Prueba OA) consiste en identificar los sonidos de las cuatro series siguientes: a) 21 sonidos naturales con timbre de piano (OA1). b) 21 sonidos naturales con timbre de sonidos puros (OA2). c) 36 sonidos de la escala cromática con timbre de piano (OA3). d) 36 sonidos de la escala cromática con timbre de sonidos pu- ros (OA4). Los sujetos de la muestra fueron 89 estudiantes de grado supe- rior de conservatorio.

Those with active absolute hearing usually have also passive, but does not happen the other way around. According to a study, the possessors of absolute pitch were examined and only 35% had all active hearing. For subjects with passive absolute pitch sound, the relations- hip between sound and timbre has a big role; which it is why there is difficulty in reproducing (remember) vowel sounds, which are the richest in harmonics and more variable in terms of sounds timbre. Subjects who have absolute hearing are able to recall any sound, regardless of timbre therefore they manage well in reproducing vowel sounds at a predetermined height (pitch). Subjects with passive absolute pitch better recognize the sounds of piano from another instrument, because they have quite a narrow variation of timbre. Both the tendency of indirect interval musical processing as accommodation to the key of C major are attributed to a parti- cular inclination in our educational environment to these pro- cessing modes and input in the tonal sense. With few exceptions, in our music schools, intervallic categori- zation is not worked, we are in a culture of "fixed do" and key of C major invades the musical literature of the early years of study. 27 Subjects with AH have difficulty transposing. We discuss, finally, the empirical study by Laucirica between 1995 and 1997. These two tests were used to measure absolu- te identification, intervallic identification and the relationship between them. The absolute tone identification test (Test AH) is to identify the sounds of the following four series: a) 21 natural sounds with piano timbre (AH1). b) 21 natural sounds with pure timbre sounds (AH2). c) 36 sounds of the chromatic scale with piano timbre (AH3). d) 36 sounds of the chromatic scale with pure timbre sounds (AH4).
