The European Aviation Safety Programme (EASP) takes a strategic approach to improving aviation safety in Europe. The EASP establishes a European Aviation Safety Strategy, Programme, and Plan. The Programme consists of regulations and activities to improve safety. The initial Plan for 2011-2014 addresses major safety issues like loss of control and runway excursions. Key factors for the success of the EASP include sharing safety data between regulators and industry to identify risks and take coordinated actions to mitigate them. EASA is committed to implementing the European Aviation Safety Plan to continuously improve aviation safety in line with ICAO principles.
