2. PHRASAL VERBS
The phrasal verbs are formed by a verb and an adverb or preposition in some cases the verb
followed by an adverb and a preposition, the meaning of these varies according to the phrasal
verb, for example, the verb eats it means to come, if added would meet across, likewise a
phrasal verb can mean more than one thing example: turn down the volume may be lower or
reject.
The phrasal verbs a verb can combine with prepositions or adverbs.
Verbos compuestos:
Son verbos compuestos que están formados por un verbo y un adverbio o proposición, en algunos
casos el verbo seguido por un adverbio y una preposición, el significado de estos varía según el
phrasal verb por ejemplo el verbo come que significa venir, si se le añade across significaría
encontrarse con, del mismo modo un phrasal verb puede significar mas de una cosa ejemplo:
turn Down puede ser bajar el volumen o rechazar.
En el uso de los phrasal verbs un verbo puede combinarse con preposiciones o adverbios.
3. COME BACK
COME BACK: significa volver a algún lugar.
Ejemplo: Angela will come back to her house
on next Saturday.
Ángela volverá a su casa el próximo sábado.
We will back to class after strike
volveremos a clase después del paro
4. JOIN IN
Este phrsal verb significa hacer parte de alguna actividad que se está llevando a cabo
Ejemplo:
We are playing football, why don’t you join in?
Nosotras estamos jugando futbol, por qué no participas?
5. GET UP
Significa levantarse, ir arriba, subir, reunir, conseguir.
Ejemplo:
I get up at six o`clock.
Me levanto a las seis en punto.
I could not get up the money to buy the car that I like.
No reuní el dinero para comprar
el carro que me gusta.
6. TURN UP
Este phrasal verb se utiliza en expresiones cómo subir el volumen o aparecer.
Ejemplo:
Turn up the radio this song I like.
Sube el volumen a la radio esta canción me gusta.
Don’t worry about your keys
they usually turn up in your jacket.
No te preocupes por tus llaves
usualmente aparecen en tu chaqueta.
7. Give back
Este phrasal verb significa devolver, retribuir o restituir.
Ejemplo:
I have to give back the book before Monday.
Tengo que devolver el libro antes de el lunes.
Do I have to give back the package?
Tengo que devolver el envase?
8. Call back
Este phrasal verb significa volver a llamar o devolver una llamada telefónica.
Ejemplo:
I will call back in ten minutes
Yo llamaré de nuevo en diez minutos.
I can call back after my work
Yo puedo devolver la llamada después de mi trabajo.
9. Look after
Este phrasal verb significa cuidar de , velar por.
Ejemplo:
I will look after your house while you are away.
Cuidarè tu casa mientras estès afuera.
She can look after herself
Ella puede valerse por si misma.
10. PUT ON
Este phrasal verb es utilizado para expresiones tales cómo, ponerse encender, aumentar;
una de sus características es que es separable.
Ejemplo:
You should Put the jacket on,It is cold.
Deberías ponerte la chaqueta, hace frio.
I think Mary has put on weight.
Pienso que Mary ha subido de peso.
11. AGREE WITH
Este phrasal verb significa estar de acuerdo.
Ejemplo:
I don’t agree with your opinión.
No estoy de acuerdo con tu opinión
We agree with you.
Estamos de acuerdo con tigo.
12. COME ON
Este phrasal verb se utiliza para la expresión vamos, ven ,ven ya.
¡ Come on! My selection
¡Vamos! mi selecciòn.
Come on I can’t wait anymore
¡Vamos! no puedo esperar mas.
