El documento argumenta que el neuromarketing no es realmente marketing, sino investigación neurológica. A pesar de llamarse empresas de neuromarketing, los especialistas en esta disciplina emergente se dedican al estudio del sistema nervioso y la investigación de mercado, no a las actividades de marketing comercial. Su verdadera actividad consiste en identificar las respuestas neurológicas de los consumidores sin necesidad de verbalizarlas.

El neuromarketing no es marketing
1. El Neuromarketing ¡no es marketing!
Está claro que hay una enorme confusión. Incluso los nuevos especialistas no terminamos de
ponernos de acuerdo. Hoy nos denominamos “Empresas de Neuromarketing”, pero no parece
muy acertada esta definición ya que la referencia al marketing está asociada a la
manipulación, el engaño y a forzar involuntariamente conductas y actitudes. Iniciar una
nueva disciplina que es (o tiene que ser) objetiva y científica heredando este enorme lastre no
parece muy inteligente.
No es por rechazar al marketing (claro que no), es más bien porque no terminamos de encajar
bien en esa denominación.
Incluso en la reunión internacional de CEOS de Empresas de Neuromarketing, en el primer
Foro Mundial de Neuromarketing en Ámsterdam, se debatió con detalle esta cuestión. Como
resultado: ningún acuerdo. De momento y ante una mejor alternativa, no habría cambio. Nos
autodefinimos como empresas de Neuromarketing!. Incluso esta definición dió nombre a la
Revista que se editó meses después en la Neuromarketing, Science & Business Association
(Neuromarketing Magazine)
Como pasa con una china en el zapato que, como no deja de incomodar, estás incómodo,
también se ha estado acariciando la asociación de nuestra actividad con la Economía. Es un
noviazgo menos comprometido, menos conflictivo y que, de partida, no genera rostros
fruncidos o un rechazo natural. Claro que tenemos que ver con la economía (y mucho), pero
este vínculo nos otorga un carácter algo irreal y suena a overpromise. Tampoco es una
asociación del todo ajustada, excepto claro está, en aquellas organizaciones que estudian el
mercado de la economía y a los participantes en la toma de decisiones económicas. Esos si.
Nosotros, los del Neuromarketing, NO nos dedicamos realmente al marketing. Nuestro campo
pertenece a ese sector, pero la parte no es el todo. Nuestra disciplina es revolucionaria y
asombrosamente eficaz, pero participamos antes, durante y después de las actividades de
Mercadeo comercial. No somos otra cosa que (y nada menos) investigadores. Los avances en
medicina han proporcionado el tercer eslabón de la actual cadena de investigación. A los
estudios cuantitativos y cualitativos, ahora les acompaña su socio el neurólogo aportando los
estudios neurológicos.
Esta si es nuestra verdadera actividad. Somos capaces de identificar las respuestas de los
consumidores ante estímulos comerciales sin que ellos tengan que verbalizarlas. Directamente
desde su sistema nervioso. Sin intermediación de factores que puedan equivocarnos.
Increíblemente espectacular!
Es reconfortante ubicarse, pero lo mejor es sentirse identificado con tu nueva ubicación. Es
como ese traje que te sienta bien y que te gusta exhibir. Te hace sentirte mejor. Por fin (y mira
que ahora se ve sencillo ¿no?)
Los nuevos especialistas que estamos desarrollando esta joven disciplina, trabajamos en el
campo de la neurología y la investigación, por lo que no parece descabellado abandonar el
paraguas del Neuromarketing y podernos identificarnos como Empresas/compañías/Centros
de Neuroinvestigación, Neuroresearch para ser más operativos.

there
is
a
huge

new
specialists

fully
agree.
Today
we
call
ourselves
"Neuromarketing
Companies",
but
this
definition
does
not
seem
very
successful
and
the
reference
to
Marketing
is
associated
with

the

in

we
discussed
this
matter
in
detail.
The
result:
no
agreement.

time

to
a

change.
We
still

companies!.

this

the
magazine
that
was
published
months
after
the
Neuromarketing,

&
Business

(Neuromarketing

As

a
pebble
in
the
shoe,
and
no
longer
bother,
you're
uncomfortable,
it
has
also
been
caressing
our
business
association
with
the
Economy.
It
is
a
courtship
less
committed,
less
confrontational
and,
starting,
no
gathers
or
generates
faces
a
natural
rejection.
Of
course
we
have
to
do
with
the
economy

but

link
gives
us
a

unreal

participated

and
after
commercial
marketing
activities.
There
are
nothing
but
(and
no
less)
researchers.
Advances
in
medicine
have
provided
the
third
link
in
the
chain
of
current
research.
A
quantitative
and
qualitative
studies,
now
accompanies
them
contributing
partner
neurologist
neurological
studies.
This
if
our
real
activity.
We
are
able
to
identify
consumer
responses
to
stimuli
business
without
them
having
to
verbalize.
Directly
from
their
nervous
system.
No
brokerage
factors
that
may
be
wrong.
Incredibly
spectacular!
It

The
new
specialists
we
are
developing
this
young
discipline,
working
in
the
field
of
neurology
and
research,
so
it
does
not
seem
unreasonable
to
leave
the
umbrella
of
Neuromarketing
and
to
be
able
to
identify
us
as
Neuroresearch
companies.
