2) Lipid utilization after consuming a high-protein meal is significantly higher compared to a high-carbohydrate meal.
3) Increasing protein content at the expense of carbohydrates in a low-calorie diet specifically increases mitochondrial oxidation, limiting the decrease in resting energy expenditure compared to caloric restriction.
