● Cuando un verbo termina en –y, precedida por
consonante, se cambia la –y por –i, y se añade –es:
study – studies hurry – hurries dry - dries
● Sin embargo, cuando un verbo termina en –y precedida
por una vocal, tan sólo se agrega la –s al infinitivo:
play – plays enjoy - enjoys

Here, we are talking about facts.
● We have two children.

found in a timetable or a chart.

Here, we are talking about our thoughts and
feelings at the time of speaking. Although these
feelings can be short-term, we use the present.
● They don't ever agree with us.
● I think you are right.
● She doesn't want you to do it.

14. Usando Do / Does
● Verbo Principal : significa "hacer"
generalmente algo abstracto ("make" es más
para "hacer/ fabricar" algo con las manos)
I do a lot of things => Yo hago muchas cosas
She does everything => Ella hace todo

15. Usando Do / Does
Verbo Auxiliar: do/does" se utilizan para
preguntar y negar en el "Present Simple".
● Nota: cuando utilizas do/does como verbo
auxiliar para preguntar o negar, el verbo
principal siempre va en infinitivo, sin "s"

● Do you know her ? ---> pregunta en el
Presente. "Know" no es el verbo "to be" así
que debo utilizar el "do" para preguntar.
● Does he work here? ---> pregunta en
Presente. El verbo principal es "work", por
tanto, debo utilizar "Do" ó "Does".

17. ● Cuando haces una pregunta utilizando "do/does/did"
como verbo auxiliar; se contesta de forma corta
diciendo: "Yes I do" [ies ai du] ó "No, I don't" [nou ai
don't]. Nunca se contesta en la respuesta corta
repitiendo el verbo principal.

● Por ejemplo, "Do you work?" [du iu guork?] ¿Trabajas?
No se contesta nunca (como hacemos en español) con
el verbo principal: Yes, I work (por "Sí, trabajo). Se
contesta con "do", así------> "Yes, I do" [ies ai du].

● The red skirt (por ejemplo, la que llevo)
● Red skirts (todas las faldas rojas, en general)
● The children (un grupo particular de niños)
● Children (en general, todos los niños)

● Demonstrative adjectives indican sobre cual
cosa o grupo de cosas estas hablando.
● En Inglés existen 4 formas de nombrar a estos
objetos, de acuerdo al numero de objetos y
donde se localizan en relación al hablante.
