It’s amazing how difficult it can be for
us to accept change.
It is natural for us as human beings,
regardless of his age, to resist change.
However, changing is not a matter of
turning “the switch” on or off. It is just
not that simple.
I believe that what is needed is a
“change of Chip” and that is a process
that must begin in your mind, which in
turn will lead to changes in concepts
and consequently, changes in attitude.
Remember that changing the “switch”
is simply a momentary action, often
for temporary convenience.
Changing the “chip” is a lifestyle
decision that will lead to real changes
in every aspect of your life and that
will last over a long period of time.

Valentine’s Day is Occidental, dating back to
Germanic Europe from where it is brought
to the United States and from there to the

different parts of the world:
JAPAN: Japan has celebrated Valentine’s Day since February 1958
and was initially promoted by the Morozoff chocolate company.
Here it is women who give chocolates to men, including friends
and co-workers. A Honmei choco (favorite chocolate) is given to
the man that the woman truly loves. The men return the favor a
month later, on March 14, a celebration known as “White Day”
where white gifts are usually given.
ARGENTINA: In Argentina, Valentine’s Day is called the “Day
of lovers”, and the union between couples is celebrated. It is
not usual to send cards or hearts. Argentina also celebrates,
Sweetness Week from July 1-7 and this holiday has been gaining
popularity in recent years; treats are given for kisses.
BRAZIL: In Brazil, Valentine’s Day is called the, The “Dìa dos
Namorados” (Day of Sweethearts) is the 12 of June. The couples
interchange gifts and cards.
CENTRAL AMERICA: ‘Day of Love and Friendship’ or ‘Day
of Affection’. They give away roses, chocolates and small details
that show love and friendship.

mariquita!

MADE IN HOME
Make your kids
Make your kids
The importance of preparing attractive food recipes for children at
home happens in two ways:
1. In order to encourage them to eat everything, make sure you use
attractive dishes. Everything enters through the eyes first.
2. Cook and Bake easy recipes with them such as: homemade bread,
easy cookies, no-cook recipes and other surprises.
Plate presentations can help encourage little ones to try foods that
they otherwise look at with distrust and disgust. For example, putting
the meatballs in the center of the spaghetti as if they were little birds in
a nest and cutting a few carrot triangles for the peaks, and a few circles
of cheese and zucchini (or olives) to make the eyes will have them eating
and coming back for more!
The same goes for a very normal tomato rice or a risotto, we give it a
rounded shape on the plate and decorate it with black olives to turn
it into a ladybug!
