3.  “a”= to / at
◦ Él va a la playa. =He goes to the beach.
◦ Nosotros vamos a las ocho. = We go at 8:00.
 Don’t forget that A + EL = AL
◦ Yo voy AL banco. = I am going to the bank.
 Don’t combine A with la, los or las!
 Other common prepositions: con / en
◦ Con = with
 ¿Tú vas con tus amigos? = Do you go with your friends?
◦ En = on/by
 Ellos van en bicicleta. = They go by (on) bike.

3. Rosa y Paco ______ a las dos y media.
4. ¿Tú ______ al parque conmigo?

5.  Use ¿Adónde? to ask where someone is going
◦ ¿Adónde vas? = Where are you going?
 To answer, use correct form of IR + A + place
◦ Voy a la plaza. = I’m going to the plaza.
 More examples:
◦ ¿Adónde van Ustedes? = Where are you all going?
◦ Vamos al museo. = We’re going to the museum.
 Notice that you don’t always have to include
the subject pronouns since we know that
VOY = I go and VAMOS = we go

6. 1. ¿Adónde vas? 2. ¿Adónde va Ana?
3. ¿Adónde van Uds.? 4. ¿Adónde van ellos?

7.  IR + A + Infinitive = going to ….
 Conjugate IR, do NOT conjugate the 2nd verb!
◦ Voy a dormir. = I’m going to sleep.
◦ Vamos a hacer ejercicio = We’re going to exercise.
 ¿Qué vas a hacer*? = What are you going to do?
 ¿Qué va a hacer* ella? =What is she going to do?
*hacer = to do / to make
