3. ¿Qué es una guitarra?
La guitarra es un instrumento musical de cuerda pulsada, compuesto de una caja de madera, un
mástil sobre el que va adosado el diapasón o trastero ― generalmente con un agujero acústico
en el centro de la tapa (boca) ―, y seis cuerdas. Sobre el diapasón van incrustados los trastes,
que permiten las diferentes notas. Su nombre específico es guitarra clásica, guitarra española,
guitarra criolla o guitarra acústica.

4. Historia de la Guitarra
La guitarra española, guitarra barroca o guitarra criolla y guitarra popular latinoamericana en
América, es un instrumento musical de origen mediterráneo.
La guitarra española, más que un instrumento musical de raíces europeas o árabes, debe
considerarse un instrumento que nace como consecuencia del contacto de las culturas hispanocristiana e hispano-musulmana en la Edad Media.
El apogeo de la vihuela en la música instrumental española fue tan intenso como fugaz. Desde
finales del siglo XVI, cuando la cultura renacentista da paso al Barroco la selecta vihuela fue
sustituida en los salones por la popular guitarra en apenas dos décadas.
La obra más brillante del barroco español fue la de Gaspar Sanz (1640/1710), titulada Instrucción
de música sobre la guitarra española que significó la introducción de la guitarra en los ambientes
cultos.

Gabriela
Rodrigo y Gabriela es un dúo de guitarras originario de México, que ganó fama en Irlanda y
posteriormente en el resto de Europa. Los miembros de la banda son Rodrigo Sánchez (guitarra
líder) y Gabriela Quintero (guitarra rítmica y percusión). Según palabras del mismo Rodrigo, se
han dedicado a crear rock acústico aunque sus composiciones están influidas por la música

broad range of genres.

The Piano Guys are an American musical group consisting of Jon Schmidt, Steven Sharp Nelson,
Tel Stewart, Paul Anderson and Al van der Beek. They gained notoriety through YouTube, where
they posted piano and cello renditions of popular songs and classical music. Schmidt and
Nelson's music is accompanied by professional-quality videos shot and edited by Paul Anderson
and Tel Stewart. In December 2011, they released their first album, titled Hits Volume 1. Their

Once is a 2007 Irish musical film written and directed by John Carney. Set in Dublin, Ireland, the
naturalistic drama stars musicians Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová. Collaborators prior to
making the film performing under the stage moniker The Swell Season, Hansard and Irglová
composed and performed all of the original songs in the film.
Shot for only €130,000 (US$160,000), the film was successful, earning substantial per-screen box
office averages in the United States. It received enthusiastic reviews and awards such as the
2007 Independent Spirit Award for Best Foreign Film. Hansard and Irglová's song "Falling Slowly"
