Enfermedad neuromuscular
es el término genérico
utilizado para describir todas
aquellas patologías que
afectan a (Cruces y Pousada,
2014):
El músculo
Las neuronas o
músculos espinales
El nervio periférico
La unión entre
músculo y nervio
5. Definición e implicaciones educativas
Dichas patologías van asociadas a una
serie de condiciones físicas que impiden
o dificultan un movimiento normal a nivel
psicomotor y que, por tanto, pueden
interferir en el proceso educativo del
alumno
Es por ello que el alumnado con
patologías neuromusculares se
encuentra dentro del alumnado con
necesidades educativas especiales
teniendo así derecho a una serie de
adaptaciones educativas que veremos a
continuación
7. Recursos generales
Dentro de los recursos generales de adaptación curricular significativa, en el caso del
alumnado con patologías neuromusculares destacan aquellos relacionados con la
accesibilidad y la movilidad dentro del centro en general y del aula en particular:
Plataforma elevadora, asientos o
espacios para personas con
movilidad reducida o silla de
ruedas, señalización, eliminación
de obstáculos…
Rampas con pendiente poco
inclinada, pavimento estable,
bordillos bajos, eliminación de
obstáculos…
Adaptación al transporte
escolar
Adaptación del acceso al
centro
8. Recursos generales
Eliminación de obstáculos,
espacio amplio apto para
silla de ruedas, material
accesible a la altura de la
silla, mesas regulables,
servicio de fácil acceso
desde el aula y debidamente
adaptado

despejado, facilidad de
acceso a las aulas, tiradores
de puerta ergonómicos a una
altura accesible, plataformas

Con recursos específicos nos referimos a material a utilizar dentro del aula, para favorecer el
rendimiento académico de los alumnos (Cruces y Pousada, 2014):

Mantel de mesa
antideslizante
Atriles para colocar
los libros

10. Recursos específicos
Asimismo, desde el comedor escolar es importante
que se proporcionen también materiales específicos
para este tipo de alumnado como bandejas de plástico,
manguitos o engrosadores para los cubiertos, etc.
