2. Angels Rescue Lot
That evening two angels came to the city of Sodom. Lot was sitting near the city gates and saw them.
He got up and went to them. He bowed to show respect.
The angels said to Lot, “We are going to destroy this city. The LORD heard how evil this city is, so he sent
us to destroy it.” When Lot did not move fast enough, the two men grabbed his hand. They also took the
hands of his wife and his two daughters. The two men led Lot and his family safely out of the city.

Al caer la tarde, dos ángeles llegaron
a Sodoma. Lot estaba sentado a la
entrada de la ciudad, y en cuanto los vio
se levantó para saludarlos. Sin levantar

sacaron de la ciudad para ponerlos a
salvo.

3. Jacob’s Dream
Jacob had a dream. He dreamed there was a ladder that was on the ground and reached up into
heaven. He saw the angels of God going up and down the ladder. And then Jacob saw the LORD standing
by the ladder. He said, “I am with you, and I will protect you everywhere you go.

4. Balaam and the Angel
Balak, who was king of Moab at that time, sent messengers to summon Balaam. God said to Balaam,
“Do not go with them,” but Balaam went with the Moabite officials. God was very angry when he went,
and the angel of the Lord stood in the road to oppose him. The angel stood in a narrow place where
there was no room to turn, either to the right or to the left.

Balaam. Dios le dijo a Balaam:
—No vayas con ellos. Pero a la

5. When the donkey saw the angel of the
Lord, it lay down under Balaam, and he was
angry and beat it with his staff. Then the Lord
opened the donkey’s mouth, and it said to
Balaam, “What have I done to you to make
you beat me these three times?”
Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and
he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the
road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low
and fell facedown.
Cuando la burra vio al ángel, se echó al
suelo con Balaam encima. Entonces Balaam,
furioso, golpeó al animal con su vara. Así que
el Señor le dio a la burra la capacidad de
hablar. —¿Qué te he hecho para merecer que
me pegues tres veces? —le preguntó a
Balaam.
Entonces el Señor abrió los ojos de Balaam
y vio al ángel del Señor de pie en el camino con

6. Elisha’s Secret Army
When the king of Aram was at war with Israel, he would confer with his officers and say, “We will
mobilize our forces at such and such a place.” But immediately Elisha, the man of God, would warn the
king of Israel.
The king of Aram became very upset over this. He called his officers together and demanded, “Go and
find out where Elisha is, so I can send troops to seize him.” The report came back: “Elisha is at Dothan.”
So one night the king of Aram sent a great army with many chariots and horses to surround the city.
El ejército secreto de Eliseo
Cada vez que el rey de Aram entraba
en guerra con Israel, consultaba con sus
funcionarios y les decía: «Movilizaremos
nuestras fuerzas en tal y tal lugar». Sin
embargo, de inmediato Eliseo, hombre
de Dios, le advertía al rey de Israel.
Esa situación disgustó mucho al rey
de Aram y llamó a sus oficiales y les
ordenó: —Vayan a averiguar dónde está
Eliseo, para mandar soldados a
capturarlo. Luego le avisaron: «Eliseo
está en Dotán». Así que una noche, el rey
de Aram envió un gran ejército con
muchos caballos y carros de guerra para
rodear la ciudad.

7. Elisha’s servant got up early that morning. When he went outside, he saw an army with horses and
chariots all around the city. The servant said to Elisha, “Oh, my master, what can we do?”
Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid. The army that fights for us is larger than the army that fights for Aram.”
Then Elisha prayed and said, “LORD, I ask you, open my servant’s eyes so that he can see.” The LORD
opened the eyes of the young man, and the servant saw the mountain was full of horses and chariots of
fire. They were all around Elisha.
Al día siguiente, cuando el
sirviente del hombre de Dios se
levantó temprano y salió, había
tropas, caballos y carros de guerra
por todos lados. —¡Oh señor! ¿Qué
vamos a hacer ahora? —gritó el
joven a Eliseo.
—¡No tengas miedo! —le dijo
Eliseo—. ¡Hay más de nuestro lado
que del lado de ellos! Entonces
Eliseo oró: «Oh Señor, ¡abre los ojos
de este joven para que vea!». Así
que el Señor abrió los ojos del
joven, y cuando levantó la vista vio
que la montaña alrededor de Eliseo
estaba llena de caballos y carros de
fuego.

8. Daniel in the Lion’s Den
When the Medes overthrew the Babylonians, Daniel became a senior administrator during the reign
of King Darius. However, Daniel's fellow governors became jealous and plotted against him. They
persuaded Darius to decree restrictions on prayer and worship, under penalty of death, but Daniel's well-
known devotion to his God compelled him to ignore the decree.

Después que los medos
derrocaron a los babilonios, se le
concedió a Daniel un alto cargo
administrativo durante el
reinado de Darío.
Otros dos gobernadores,
movidos por la envidia,
conspiraron contra Daniel.
Convencieron a Darío para que

oración y el culto, cuyo
incumplimiento se castigaría con
la muerte. Pero Daniel, cuya
devoción a su Dios era de todos
conocida, hizo caso omiso de
aquel decreto.

9. When Daniel was thrown into a den of hungry lions, The king said to him, “May your God, whom
you serve so faithfully, rescue you.”
Very early the next morning, the king got up and hurried out to the lions’ den. When he got there,
he called out, “Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve so faithfully, able to
rescue you from the lions?”
Daniel answered, “Long live the king! My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they
would not hurt me.”
The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on
him, for he had trusted in his God.
El rey ordenó que arrestaran a Daniel y lo arrojaran al foso de los leones. El rey le dijo: «Que tu Dios, a
quien sirves tan fielmente, te rescate».
Muy temprano a la mañana siguiente,
el rey se levantó y fue deprisa al foso de
los leones. Cuando llegó allí, gritó con
angustia: —¡Daniel, siervo del Dios
viviente! ¿Pudo tu Dios rescatarte de los
leones?
Daniel contestó: — Mi Dios envió a su
ángel para cerrarles la boca a los leones,
a fin de que no me hicieran daño.
El rey se alegró mucho y mandó que
sacaran a Daniel del foso. No tenía
ningún rasguño, porque había confiado
en Dios.

10. Daniel’s Vision
Daniel had been fasting for three weeks when an angelic messenger appeared to him. The angel said,
“Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray, your request has been heard in heaven. I
have come in answer to your prayer. But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia
blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the
spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia. Now I am here to explain what will happen to your
people in the future.”
Visión de un mensajero
Daniel ayunó durante tres semanas, tras lo cual

«No tengas miedo, Daniel. Desde el primer día que
comenzaste a orar, tu petición fue escuchada en el

los arcángeles, y lo dejé

estoy aquí para explicar lo

11. An Angel Visits Mary and Joseph
God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to
be married to a man named Joseph. Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Don’t be afraid, Mary. You will give
birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most
High.
After this, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Joseph,” the angel said, “do not be
afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.” When Joseph
woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded.
Un ángel anuncia el nacimiento de Jesús
Dios mandó al ángel Gabriel a un pueblo de Galilea
llamado Nazaret, donde vivía una joven llamada
María; era virgen, pero estaba comprometida para
casarse con un hombre llamado José. El ángel entró
en el lugar donde ella estaba, y le dijo: —María, no
tengas miedo. Ahora vas a quedar encinta: tendrás un
hijo, y le pondrás por nombre Jesús. Será un gran
hombre, al que llamarán Hijo del Dios.
Un ángel del Señor tambien apareció a José en un
sueño. «José, —le dijo el ángel—, no tengas miedo de
recibir a María por esposa, porque el niño que lleva
dentro de ella fue concebido por el Espíritu Santo».
Cuando José despertó, hizo como el ángel del Señor le
había ordenado.

12. Peter’s Miraculous Escape from Prison
Herod imprisoned Peter, placing him under the guard of four squads of four soldiers each. But
while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.
The night before Peter was to be placed on trial, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of
the Lord stood before Peter. The angel said, “Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists. “Now
put on your coat and follow me,” the angel ordered.
Un ángel libra de la cárcel a Pedro
Herodes metió a Pedro en la cárcel, donde estaba vigilado por cuatro grupos de soldados. Pero
mientras Pedro estaba en la
cárcel, los miembros de la iglesia
oraban a Dios por él en todo
momento.
La misma noche anterior al día
en que Herodes lo iba a presentar
ante el pueblo, una luz intensa
iluminó la celda y un ángel del
Señor se puso frente a Pedro. El
ángel le dijo: «¡Levántate en
seguida!» Al instante, las cadenas
cayeron de las manos de Pedro, y
el ángel le dijo: «Ponte tu capa y
sígueme.»

13. So Peter left the cell, following the angel. They passed the first and second guard posts and came to
the iron gate leading to the city, and this opened for them all by itself. So they passed through and
started walking down the street, and then the angel suddenly left him.
Así que Pedro salió
de la celda y siguió
al ángel. Pasaron el
primer puesto de
guardia y luego el
segundo y llegaron a
la puerta de hierro
que lleva a la
ciudad, y esta puerta
