1. El sitio es un espigón sobre el mar
de rocas talladas, escalones y
pliegues por los que se filtra el agua
del Mediterráneo formando piscinas
naturales, haciendo de Atlantis un lugar
sobrecogedor. De hecho, hay
pequeños altares y figuras
talladas, budas y dioses
de la cosmología hindú
pintados sobre las
paredes. Los hippies
bautizaron el lugar
como Atlantis, y
fueron ellos quienes
se asentaron en la
pequeña cueva que
en la que antiguamente
se refugiaban los
canteros cuando llovía.
En la década de los sesenta,
las comunidades hippies de la
zona iniciaron un estilo de vida
pacífico plagado de experiencias
‘extrasensoriales’ que debían venir
acompañadas, como no, por un paisaje
natural mágico. Atlantis cumplía con
los requisitos: las formas geométricas
sobre las rocas, las piscinas naturales
y la huella artística de sus paredes
han convertido Atlantis en un lugar
imprescindible de Ibiza. De hecho, aún
hoy hay algunas personas que siguen
descendiendo el acantilado y tallando
figuras en el maleable marès (arenisca)
de Atlantis, manteniendo viva la magia
del lugar.
