La primavera besaba
suavemente la arboleda,
y el verde nuevo brotaba
como una verde humareda.
Las nubes iban pasando
sobre el campo juvenil...
Yo vi en las hojas temblando
las frescas lluvias de abril.
Bajo ese almendro florido,
todo cargado de flor
—recordé—, yo he maldecido
mi juventud sin amor.
Hoy, en mitad de la vida,
me he parado a meditar...
¡Juventud nunca vivida,
quién te volviera a soñar!

13. La carcoma
Por las patas de la cama del testero
la carcoma carcomiendo,
la carcoma sin querer
hace música al comer.
Rum, rum, rum.
Por los bordes del arcón
donde guardo el camisón,
la carcoma va y se asoma.
¡Qué carcoma más carcoma!
¡Qué comilona está hecha,
por los cuernos de la percha,
por las patas de la mesa,
cómo roe la princesa!
¡Qué pasillos la carcoma,
va tejiendo la tragona,
qué malísima persona,
voracísima carcoma!
Rum, rum, rum.
Hace días la muy pilla,
se ha metido en la capilla,
y se está comiendo a un santo.
