Uno de los principales objetivos con esta alianza naciente consiste en establecer alianzas educativas a nivel municipal que puedan servir como modelo de mejora práctica (programas educativos y desarrollo comunitario) para zonas rurales y de extrema pobreza. De la misma forma se busca trabajar con las comunidades de los municipios para diagnosticar sus necesidades y prioridades para establecer programas educativos y de servicio a la comunidad por medio de programas de liderazgo como: Con Padres en la Educación, Madres Comprometidas, desarrollo humano, programas de liderazgo juvenil y jóvenes emprendedores , jóvenes en el arte, jóvenes en filantropía etc. Esta alianza maximiza los recursos de programas federales, corporativos y municipales para incrementar las oportunidades para jóvenes, adultos y personal de las escuelas.

10. Liberia Yekepa School ArcelorMittal Liberia runs two schools in the Yekepa mine. Originally created in the 1960 ’s for employees’ children, now they take in students from the entire Yekepa community. After a significant reduction in their activity when the civil war closed the mine, these schools are now being refurbished. This is another Corporate Responsibility action under the Foundation ’s supervision for enhancing the quality of life in the region. Yekepa now has an infant school for 380 children, a night school and a kindergarten for children aged between two and five. Senegal Books to Senegal from Volunteers from Canada & Spain. As part of 2009 Volunteer Work Day activities, ArcelorMittal colleagues from Canada & Spain collected over 9,000 books that were donated to 6 local school libraries in Senegal South Africa Rebuild ten schools On the 2nd February 2009, the Ministry of Education and ArcelorMittal announced a partnership to rebuild 10 schools over a 7 year period, commencing in 2009. The aim of the project is to rebuild existing schools utilizing innovative technologies e.g light steel frame construction methods, insulated panels and green technology. The budget for the project is 31.5 million US $ over 7 years. The first school is being built and the construction cost is estimated at 4 million US$. This school is called Meetse-a-Bophelo, it is situated in Mamelodi and has an intake of 1,200 primary school pupils. Africa
