Berthe Morisot was a French painter born in 1841 in Bourges, France who became one of the leading artists of Impressionism. She studied under Camille Corot and adopted the Impressionist technique of painting outdoors. Morisot participated in the Salon de Paris from 1864 to 1874 and helped convince Edouard Manet to adopt Impressionist techniques. She died in Paris in 1895 leaving around 700 paintings.
