Introduction
I will be talking our new compressor for process refrigeration
Here’s an outline for my talk
History and profiles for Mayekawa and chemical
Mayekawa’s commitment to excellence
J compressor meets these
Feature
Packaging also helps us meet these goals we set for ourselves
Give stats
Long history
Mayekawa’s history is highlighted by developments in its compressors
1970 Mayekawa introduced screw compressors t oil and gas
The mayekawa chemical division was established in 1994
Strength of mayekawa
Gas composition for hisys, 3d models can be shared with the client, FEA and pipe allow us to check design for stresses and verify engineering
Certifications
Our USA locations, New one in TN, Largest in Japan, 2nd largest in Brazil,
Vip storage for spare compressors, trained serviceman
Standard package has the smallest carbon footprint of any compressor package worldwide
We believe J series is our most current realization of these goals.
Overall improvement:
We wanted to improve: Efficiency
Reliability
Power
Vibration
Improve installation time
Increase scope
MAWP = Max. Allowable Working Pressure
J profile rotor
Flanged motor housing
Vi sensor and controls (combine)
Check valve for certain applications
Rotor has a shorter rotor seal line (the rotor edge line that seals the gap between rotor blades). This decreases the area where gas leakage from high to low can occur. At higher compression ratios, this effect is more pronounced which is why the H port has a comparative greater improvement than the L port.
Rotor and rotor casing have improved manufacturing procedure which also helps with efficiency.
2. Less volume per compression phase (female spins faster than in O-profile)
3. Rotor diameters are probably for female as this determines volume throughput
Explain slide
J series can cover the same capacity with 3 rotor sizes because the groove in the j profile goes deeper (or more likely: the rotor is on average longer) (one revolution moves more gas)
170S = FES 85GS, Frick RXF-50 RDB-50,
170M = FES 110GM, RWBII-60,
170L = FES 160GM, RWBII-76
717:
Min Disc: 65F
If customer does not want differential feed, continuous duty pump is a possible option
Small oil pump can operate continuously it has a relief valve in case the discharge pressure is higher than pump pressure.
J series incorporates our Variable Vi technology
2.6, 3.6, 5.8 for V Series
Capacity control 25%-100%
From safety operating point of view, minimum load% for continuous operating must be restricted as 25%.(long rotor shaft ,long structure in axis direction compared to other models) (S Hiraoka, Email 4/28/10)
Mechanically speaking we can get 0% as slide valve position just for reduction of start torque but can not be used for stable running. (S Hiraoka, Email 4/28/10)
Shows how variable Vi can help avoid power loss…
Volume Ratio
Explain graphs
Suction, compression, discharge
Po needs to be kept above discharge pressure
Same I/O as CP IV
September 2010 availability
How can the rotor-rotor seal length be shorter if the rotor is longer? Maybe the seal does not extend the length of the rotor. Probably the seal length is shorter because there are 5 lobes in the J series
