Why transform to Agile? What are the impediments to Agile Transformation? How to plan the Agile transformation? How to accelerate and sustain the Agile Transformation.
Leading a large-scale agile transformation isn’t about adopting a new set of attitudes, processes, and behaviors at the team level… it’s about helping your company deliver faster to market, and developing the ability to respond to a rapidly-changing competitive landscape. First and foremost, it’s about achieving business agility. Business agility comes from people having clarity of purpose, a willingness to be held accountable, and the ability to achieve measurable outcomes. Unfortunately, almost everything in modern organizations gets in the way of teams acting with any sort of autonomy. In most companies, achieving business agility requires significant organizational change.
Agile transformation necessitates a fundamental rethinking of how your company organizes for delivery, how it delivers value to its customers, and how it plans and measures outcomes. Agile transformation is about building enabling structures, aligning the flow of work, and measuring for outcomes based progress. It's about breaking dependencies. The reality is that this kind of change can only be led from the top. This talk will explore how executives can define an idealized end-state for the transformation, build a fiscally responsible iterative and incremental plan to realize that end-state, as well as techniques for tracking progress and managing change.
Why agile is failing in large enterprisesLeadingAgile
Agile works. We get it. You don’t have to sell people on the underlying principles anymore. Even so, many large-scale agile transformations are struggling. Some have failed. Others can’t figure out why things aren't working after multiple attempts. It’s easy to blame the people, the process, and the culture. And it’s especially easy to blame management. However, the underlying problem is that most large organizations weren’t built to be agile. You need a way to safely and pragmatically refactor your company into an organization that can adopt agile and sustain the transformation. Mike Cottmeyer introduces a framework for understanding the type of company in which you work, its delivery constraints, and likely challenges you’ll face in your agile transformation. Mike shares a strategy for establishing an end-state vision and operational model to guide your transformation. Finally, he defines an approach for incrementally introducing change, measuring outcomes, and sustaining those changes.

What is Value Stream Management and why do you need it?Tasktop
Agile has provided a framework for shortening iterations and adapting to ever changing requirements. DevOps established practices for automating the software delivery pipeline. While these methods are becoming standard practices in building software, scaling these concepts is problematic. That’s where Value Stream Management (VSM) comes in.
During this webinar, Senior VSM Strategist, Carmen DeArdo, discusses:
- What is Value Stream Management and why you need it
- How to architect your delivery pipeline for end-to-end flow and delivery speed
- Why moving from a project to product approach is critical to survive in the age of digital disruption
Slides of the 'deep' talk presented @ Agile O'Day 2017 #agileoday on the topic of "Business Agility" - Business agility is the "ability of a business system to rapidly respond to change by adapting its initial stable configuration”
Linda rising - the power of an agile mindsetMagneta AI
I‘ve wondered for some time whether much of Agile’s success was the result of the placebo effect, that is, good things happened because we believed they would.
The placebo effect is a startling reminder of the power our minds have over our perceived reality. Now cognitive scientists tell us that this is only a small part of what our minds can do.
Research has identified what I like to call «an agile mindset», an attitude that equates failure and problems with opportunities for learning, a belief that we can all improve over time, that our abilities are not fixed but evolve with effort.
What’s surprising about this research is the impact of an agile mindset on creativity and innovation, estimation, and collaboration in and out of the workplace.
I’ll relate what’s known about this mindset and share some practical suggestions that can help all of us become even more agile.

Reprogramming Leadership for Agility - September 2016Pete Behrens
Interested in scaling agile to your entire organization? Most leaders look to scaling frameworks to drive their adoption and growth. However, research shows that the largest impediment to further agile adoption is organizational leaders and culture.
This presentation provides a framework for leaders to begin with their own thinking and behaviors - to role model agility for the organization to improve adoption, sustain and grow agility in their organizations.

My keynote talk at Agile of the East, Kolkata on 11-Nov. In this talk, I have shared a perspective on what an agile transformation could bring, and some anti-patterns
Presentation to OU Agile special interest group 25 January 2017. Agile basics, Agile myths, and stories of breakthroughs and breakdowns in Agile adoption in learning design and course production.
Enterprise Agile Coaching - Professional Agile Coaching #3Cprime
“Agile coach” is a term that is thrown around pretty loosely these days. But what exactly is an agile coach? How do they differ from the more tactical roles, like ScrumMaster? And how do organizations find the agile coaches that are right for them?
In the final session of our “Professional Agile Coaching” series, we’ll examine how organizations can build an Enterprise Agile Coaching strategy. We’ll look at:
• When to use an external versus internal coach
• How to choose a coach with the abilities your team/organization needs
• The differences between team and enterprise agile coaching
• Creating a communication plan with your agile coach
• Developing an internal agile coaching organization
This session will help organizations make the best use of both internal and external coaches in order to ultimately build the deep internal skills and knowledge necessary for a successful agile transformation.
Hundreds of organizations have now realized the benefit of Rapid Release Planning! Compared to traditional release planning, this increases your estimation and sizing accuracy from 34% to over 85%! Rapid Release Planning is one of the CORE Components for getting teams engaged early and using their Rapid Sizing to better forecast which candidates will successfully be a part of the release. The keys to making this work successfully revolve around making gut decisions about size and relative complexity of the items being estimated and validated.

An excerpt of my proposal to the implementation and management of Corporate Innovation portfolio based on Tendayi Viki's book: The Corporate StartUp and Lean Management principles.
'agility enablement' - desbloqueando la agilidad empresarialJohnny Ordóñez
agilidad está siempre presente en la organización. En lugar de tratar de alcanzar el 'ser Ágil’ como una meta, enfocarse en identificar los límites y remover las restricciones que dan forma a la capacidad organizacional de poder percibir, adaptarse y responder.
Nuestro trabajo es identificar los límites y remover las restricciones que la rodean para potenciarla.
Esta es mi propuesta.
'agility' is always present within the organization. Instead of trying to achieve ‘to be Agile' as a goal, focus on identifying boundaries and removing the constraints that shape the organizational capacity of sensing, adapting and responding. Our job is to identify the boundaries and remove the constraints that surround 'agility' to enhance it.
This is my proposal.
