Computación - E2C2' ISBN-10:970-36-0404-8 e ISBN-13:978-970-36-0404-3

Adjetivos y Adverbios – Fundamentos.
1. Cuando se emplean los adverbios.
En este cuadernillo, restringiremos el uso de adverbios concretándonos a saber
que los adverbios se emplearán para modificar: 1) a un verbo, 2) a un adjetivo, y 3)
a otros adverbios. Ejemplos:
a) Primer caso: «Catherine writes carefully» – «Catalina escribe
cuidadosamente». El adverbio «carefully» modifica al verbo «write».
b) Segundo caso: «The cat of Rose is incredibly funny» – «El gato de Rosa es
increíblemente divertido». El adverbio «incredibly» modifica al adjetivo
«funny».
c) Tercer caso: «My computer runs very quickly» – «Mi computadora funciona
muy aprisa». El adverbio «very» califica a otro adverbio, a «quickly».
1. to appear
2. to be
3. to become
4. to feel
5. to get
6. to go
7. to grow
8. to keep
9. to look
10. to prove
11. to remain
12. to seem
13. to smell
14. to sound
15. to stay
16. to taste
17. to turn

Con estos verbos se emplean adjetivos porque lo que suele calificarse es al sujeto
de la sentencia antes que al verbo. Ejemplos:
«Mary seemed sad» - «María pareció triste». Después del verbo «seem» se
emplea un adjetivo «sad» porque lo que se califica es a María, no al verbo.
Otro ejemplo:
«The train is slow» - «El tren es lento».
Ejemplos.
Modificador Función Ejemplo
Adjective Describe nouns I went to an early class.
adj. noun
Adjective Describe
pronouns
They were suffering with the influenza for days.
pronoun adj.
Adverb Describe verbs Catherine awoke early in the morning.
verb adv.
Adverb Describe
adverbs
Catherine awoke very early in the morning.
adv. adv.
Adverb Describe
adjectives
The village was really beautiful.
adv. adj.

4. Adjetivos que se convierten en adverbios.
Muchos adjetivos se convierten en adverbios al agregarles la terminación «ly».
Ejemplos:
Adjetivos Adverbios
dangerous
careful
nice
easy
horrible
quick
perfect
etc.
dangerously
carefully
nicely
easily
horribly
quickly
perfectly
etc.
5. Existen adjetivos y adverbios que tienen el mismo nombre.
Ejemplos de éstos son:
daily
early
far
fast
rough
hard
high
ill
low
loud
near
right
straight
weekly
late
6. Existen algunos adjetivos terminados en «ly», que no deben
confundirse con adverbios.
Entre estos tenemos:
costly - costoso
friendly - amistoso
lively - vivo
lonely - solitario
lovely - encantador
silly - tonto

Know the Project: Books of English, from English 1 to 5, for all
the CBTIS of the United Mexican States.
«I formulated a project for the CBTIS (Technological Industrial and of Services Center of
Bachelor Degree) 107 of Tuxtepec, Oax., México consisting in giving to the Library of this
Institution with five volumes of English language, of my authorship. A book for each
semester, from the first English book to fifth English book (according to the plan of studies
in this regard of the CBTIS). At no cost to the Institution, because this is a donation (in the
staff, I solve my expenses of the project with income of my employment as a professor that
I would be in this CBTIS).
One of the major advantages of this project is to solve the need of the student of spending
in books of English language because the books will be at your complete disposal into the
student community in the Library of the institution.
Afterward, in an immediate subsequent phase of this project is that among the student
community of this CBTIS and all the CBTIS of the United Mexican States will have these 5
volumes of English language by means of a page Google; read it, neither cost nor
restriction to obtain them.
Well, as a last note, I must say that these books will have the format of 'workbook'. This,
as an intelligent work with foundations and then their respective exercises to resolve, into
a concurrent process».
