Introducción
Los adenomas hipofisiarios representan el 15% de las neoplasias
intracraneales.
Los adenomas hipofisiarios funcionantes son los más frecuentes, siendo el
prolactinoma el más prevalente.
Pueden presentarse de forma esporádica (95%) o en el contexto de
síndromes familiares: Neoplasia endocrina múltiple.
Los AHF se caracterizan por la secreción de alguno de los subtipos
hormonales de la hipófisis anterior – PRL, GH, ACTH.

Cuadros clínicos
Se presenta principalmente como:
• Cushing
• Acromegalia/Gigantismo
• Hipertiroidismo
Otra clínica
• Cefalea
• Alteraciones visuales
• Hipopituitarismo
Tratamiento
• Cirugía transesfenoidal
• Radioterapia
• Tratamiento médico según tipo de adenoma.
