DIFERENDO MARÍTIMO ENTRE PERÚ Y CHILE
• Esta disputa se centra principalmente en la delimitación de la frontera marítima en la zona conocida como el
triángulo exterior, que es una extensa área marítima rica en recursos naturales, incluidos los pesqueros. El origen
de esta disputa se remonta a la época colonial y se ha mantenido a lo largo de los años, a pesar de los esfuerzos
por resolverla a través de negociaciones diplomáticas y procesos judiciales internacionales. En enero de 2008,
Perú presentó una demanda ante la Corte Internacional de Justicia (CIJ) en La Haya, buscando una delimitación
marítima equitativa con Chile. En marzo de 2014, la CIJ emitió su fallo, estableciendo una nueva frontera marítima
entre los dos países.
