Mark Badgley and James Mischka were interviewed before their fashion show in Houston benefiting an organization combating childhood obesity. They discussed being inspired by 1920s glamour for their upcoming collection and striving to make lightweight, practically weightless dresses. They noted diversifying their line and being more affordable during economic downturns. While they received some family support starting out, it was not enough and the fashion world was more established; however, they say it is now more open and welcoming to new designers.
Crystal Allison has over 18 years of experience in customer service and cashier roles. She has worked at several retail and food service establishments including Walmart, Safeway, What A Burger, Subway, McDonald's, and Quiznos. She also has experience in inventory control, industrial line production, bookkeeping, and secretarial work. Allison has a GED from Mesa Community College and references available upon request.
The document discusses establishing a regional educational fund and textbook initiative modeled after PALTEX in Latin America to address the extreme need for teaching and learning materials in health sciences education institutions in the WHO African Region. A meeting was organized to analyze if the PALTEX program could be relevant for Africa and agree on the scope of a feasibility study. Participants would discuss challenges in health education, the PALTEX experience, and refining terms of reference for a study on establishing a similar initiative in Africa.
According to Leonardo Avritzer's analysis of participatory governance programs in Brazil, there are three key conditions for their successful implementation and impact: 1) the presence of strong, well-organized civil society associations; 2) the willingness of political parties to support participatory policies; and 3) institutional designs that are tailored to the local context through cooperation between civil society and political actors. Porto Alegre's participatory budgeting program has been effective because it met all three conditions, with dense civil society networks, political party buy-in, and a negotiated design. However, programs in other cities like São Paulo have seen more limited success because the conditions have not overlapped as fully, such as weaker civil society and divisions

Step Into Security Webinar – Best Practices for Bomb Threat Response at SchoolsKeith Harris
1) Schools should have a bomb threat response plan in place and work closely with first responders. All threats should be taken seriously.
2) Upon receiving a threat, the school should capture all available information, call 9-1-1, and begin a threat assessment in consultation with first responders.
3) Evacuation of the entire building is not always the first priority; a search may be conducted first if the threat is deemed not credible and no device is found. The decision to evacuate involves considering factors like the threat level and advice from responders.
