INCRUSTACIONES DE
CERÁMICA

7. Técnica Semi-directa
Intraoral Extraoral
- Cavidad - Cavidad
- Vaselina - Impresión
- Estratificación - Vaciado
- Fotopolimerizamos - Confección sobre
- Retiramos incrustación modelo de yeso.
- Pulido, ajuste - Ajustar en boca
- Cementado y oclusión - Cementado
- Una sola visita - Una/dos visitas
8. Técnica Indirecta
• Preparamos la cavidad
• Toma de impresiones ( silicona pesada + fluida)
Registro de mordida + arco facial.
• Laboratorio (envío)
• Comprobar:
modelo de trabajo, maestro, boca.
• Cementado
• Oclusión
9. ¿Cuándo realizaremos una
INCRUSTACIÓN?
lesiones de caries medianas
• En dientes vitales fracturas
amelogénesis
desmineralización dentaria
• En dientes endodonciados
• Restauraciones múltiples en una misma pieza
• Difícil manipular técnica directa
10. ¿Cuándo NO recomendamos
realizar INCRUSTACIONES ?
• Parafunciones severas: bruxismo.
13. RESINA COMPUESTA (T.DIR)
Tto conservador ( pequeñas cavidades)
Estético
Coste limitado
Posibilidad reparación (fácil)
Contracción en polimerización
Técnico-sensitivo
Punto de contacto difícil
14. RESINA COMPUESTA (T.IND)
Restauración cementada
• Mayor facilidad de ajuste de los márgenes
Mayor facilidad repulimiento de la restauración.
Facilidad de reparación
Menor coste
Laboratorio simplificada
Resistencia flexural (elástica)
Tto adicional con calor, presión : aumenta R a fractura y
da dureza a la superficie.
Brillo superficial se pierde
Tto conservador: requiere grosor mínimo.
15. CERÁMICA (T.IND)
Estética
No sufre desgaste ni abrasión
Brillo superficial durable
Coste
Falta de elasticidad (rígido)
Potencial abrasivo para antagonista
Laboriosa técnica de laboratorio
Difícil reparado
17. VENTAJAS
• Emplea materiales distintos
• Diversos campos de la prótesis
INCONVENIENTES
• Precio
• Equipamiento especifico
• Entrenamiento cada sistema
18. Factores para elegir
composite o cerámica:
• Falta de tejido dental
• Adaptación marginal
• Estética
• Coste
• Resistencia a la fatiga del material
• Mimetismo
• Estabilidad de color
19. FALTA TEJIDO DENTAL
CERÁMICA COMPOSITE
Segunda opción Primera opción
PERDIDA PEQUEÑA:
• Técnica directa de composite.
PERDIDA MEDIANA:
• Técnica directa + indirecta de
composite
PERDIDA EXTENSA :
• Técnica indirecta de composite

20. ADAPTACIÓN MARGINAL
CERÁMICA COMPOSITE
Deficiente Aceptable
«Marginal adaptation of composites and
esthetic inlays is an important
characteristic with a significant role in the
long-term clinical performance of the
restoration».
Marginal Adaptation of Indirect Composite, Glass-Ceramic Inlays and Direct Composite: An
In Vitro Evaluation * S. Zarrati, F. Mahboub * JOURNAL OF DENTISTRY , TEHRAN UNIVERSITY
OF MEDIAL SCIENCES 2010; Vol. 7, No. 2.
21. ESTÉTICA
CERÁMICA COMPOSITE
Excelente Buena
«La cerámica ofrece la mejor estética, dada la posibilidad de
encontrar color exacto a juego con los tejidos dentales naturales»
« Porcelain is the most natural appearing synthetic replacement
material for the missing tooth structure. »
Aesthetic Inlays * Sathish Abraham, Kailash Attur, Santosh Kumar Singh, N.Lisa Chacko

22. ECONÓMICO
CERÁMICA COMPOSITE
+ caro + barato
• Por los servicios del laboratorio
• Calidad-precio
23. RESISTENCIA ANTE LA FATIGA
CERÁMICA COMPOSITE
Peor Mejor
«Placement of ceramic inlay materials in high-stress areas may result in less predictable
long-term performance». Aesthetic Inlays *
«Another characteristic of composite compared to porcelain is its higher material
wear ad lower elastic modulus, which could have contributed to the abdorption of
intense stresses.»

endodontically treated molars. *Pascal Magne, DMD, PhD/Alena Knezevic, DDS, PhD. *

24. BIOMIMÉTICA
CERÁMICA COMPOSITE
«Esmalte» «Dentina»
« It was clearly established that a new biomimetic approach to restorative
dentistry was possible through the structured use of “tooth-like” restorative
materials (composite resins and porcelain) and the generation of a hard tissue
bond (enamel and dentin bonding) ».
Composite Resins and Bonded Porcelain: The Postamalgam Era? * Pascal Magne,
DMD, PhD* CDA.JOURNAL FEBRUARY 2006 VOL.34.NO.2
25. ESTABILIDAD DE COLOR
CERÁMICA COMPOSITE
Mayor Menor
« Finally, knowing the restorative materials composition
is important, as is respecting its polymerization
cycle, and promoting adequate surface texture
in order to select the appropiate material for
each clinical application, and use it in a competent
way to obtain its best properties, thus guaranteeing
longevity and success.»
«It was observed that the coffee contact period was relevant, with the
greatest discoloration occurring between 1 day and 7 days, although it
continued to increase until the end of the experimental period.»

• Calidad-precio
