- Let’s get back to the restaurant industry and home cooks We have become a food-focused culture. First, food TV channels like the Food Network turned a public that largely didn’t care about cooking into foodies. Then social web sites and apps started a whole crowdsourcing movement, where people review restaurants, post stories and pictures of the food they make and the food they eat. three broad categories when it comes to cooking: makers, remixers, and consumers.
