Objectivos generales: At the end of unit grade five students should be
able to:
• Identify orally and in writing the days of the week in Spanish with at
least 80% accuracy after listening to a paragraph or story being
read three times.
• State with at least 80% accuracy in pronunciation the months of the
year in Spanish both orally and in a written form.
• Identify orally and in writing, the different seasons of the year using
correctly the learnt structures ¿ Cuáles son las estaciones?
¿ Cuántos estaciones hay en un año? With at least 80% accuracy
in pronunciation

• Describe the main special days and important events of Jamaica and
other Spanish speaking countries using age appropriate and
culturally authentic selections both orally and in writing.
• Express through orally and through role-play at least10 articles of
clothing in Spanish that they would wear to a party after listening to
a dialogue.
• Interview each other to find out personal information, using the
correct grammar structures for questioning (Cuál, Cuánto cuesta,
cómo es, qué desea/ prefieres, with 80% accuracy in a culturally
authentic manner.
• Use appropriate gestures, intonation and common idiomatic
expressions of the target culture in familiar situations.
• Give and follow a series of oral and written direction, commands,
and request for participation in age appropriate classroom and
cultural activities.

At the end of the lesson Grade five students should be able to:
o Identify with at least 80% accuracy the days of the week in Spanish
both orally and in a written form after listening to a poem/ or a rap.
o State what is the date in Spanish using correctly the correct
grammar structure for requesting the date ¿Cuál es la Fecha? /
¿Qué Fecha es hoy? / ¿ A cuántos estamos? In a culturally
authentic manner.
o Work together in pairs to foster good pair and group dynamics.

Tópico Dos: ¿Cuando es tu cumpleaños? {Los meses del año}
• State with at least 80% accuracy in pronunciation the months of the
year in Spanish both orally and in a written form after viewing a
chart.
• Express orally and in written form their birth dates in Spanish with
at least 70% accuracy after being exposed to a dialogue between
two friends.
• Work in small groups to do an interactive activity to practice using
the vocabulary previously learnt in a complete sentence.

Spanish with at least 80% after listening and sing about three times.
∫ Work together in pairs to do interactive games that will foster good

At the end of the lesson grade five students should be able:
∫ Describe orally and in a written form what the weather is like using
the learnt structure and response ¿Qué tiempo hace hoy?

weather with at least 80% accuracy in pronunciation.

 Identify the different articles of clothing in Spanish with at 60%
accuracy in pronunciation.
 State orally and in writing the articles of clothing that they would
wear to a party with 60% accuracy after being exposed to a
dialogue.

At the end of the lesson Grade five students should be able:
 Investigate the cost of different items of clothing that they would
like to wear to party with at least 70% accuracy both orally and in
writing.
 Ask and respond to simple questions, make requests, and express
preferences using correct grammar structures previously taught.

fin que es divertido es un saltarín.
Hay siete días en una semana. Los días son el lunes,
el martes, el miércoles, el jueves, el viernes, el
sábado y el domingo. Hay cinco días de trabajo. Los
adultos trabajan y los estudiantes estudian en la
escuela. Hay clases todos los días menos el sábado y
el domingo.
“¿Qué día es hoy?” “Hoy es lunes. ¿Por qué?”. “Porque
mañana es martes, gracias a Dios.” Mañana tengo
muchas clases. Bueno, entonces voy a la escuela y
estudio mucho.
