The present tense in Spanish

2. Something that is taking place
now:
›Como manzanas
› I eat apples

3. Something that happens
regularly:
› Voy mucho al cine
› I go to the cinema a lot

4.  Spanish verbs end in -ar, -er, -ir in the
infinitive form.
 The infinitive is the verb form which
means ‘to…..’ in English:
› Hablar means to speak
› Comer means to eat
› Vivir means to live

5.  Verb endings change depending on
who is doing the action:
› Mi amigo habla español
› My friend speaks Spanish
› Hablamos inglés
› We speak English
