II. DESCRIPCIÓN
Este curso está organizado a partir de dos perspectivas de abordaje de la lengua:
su estructura y su uso (micro/macro; inter/intra lingüística), ambas interrelacionadas. Se
comienza con una revisión de algunas ideas “pre-científicas” sobre el lenguaje y luego
se ofrece un panorama amplio sobre algunos modelos inter e intralingüísticos de interés
en la formación de profesores de una lengua extranjera. El curso ofrece las condiciones
para una discusión de la bibliografía básica en torno a la realidad compleja del fenómeno
del lenguaje y su metodología contribuye al desarrollo del aprendizaje autónomo.
III. OBJETIVOS
3.1 Identificar los modelos y teorías del lenguaje más representativos en cuanto a su
relevancia para la comprensión de los procesos de adquisición de una lengua.
3.2 Conocer algunos modelos de micro y macro lingüística.
3.3 Describir y analizar algunos fenómenos lingüísticos, usando los modelos estudiados,
tanto de la lengua inglesa como del castellano.
3.4 Desarrollar capacidades de investigación y de pensamiento crítico en torno a la
teoría lingüística.
IV. CONTENIDOS
4.1 Modelos, paradigmas y teorías lingüísticas; prescriptivismo, descriptivismo;
orígenes del pensamiento reflexivo sobre el lenguaje.
4.2 Revisando los modelos de adquisición del lenguaje: conductismo, cognitivismo,
aculturación, modelo de monitor.

V. METODOLOGÍA
En el contexto de un enfoque constructivista, el curso contempla actividades
participativas e interactivas, clases expositivas-interactivas, clases tipo taller y
presentaciones por parte de los estudiantes y del(a) profesor(a), de temas asignados.
Se espera que los estudiantes 1) asistan regularmente, 2) realicen las lecturas
asignadas, 3) contribuyan con materiales/referencias extras, y 4) participen activamente
en clases.

• Tareas, ensayos y/o controles parciales escritos 30%
• Presentaciones y trabajos grupales y/o individuales 30%
