ROLANDO GARCIA
We are grateful to Ñeca and their children, the family work that was conducted with Rolando, our good God give
you Christian resignation, but above all, the trust that he only advanced us in return to home, and one day, God
willing, we will meet him again.
Upon receiving the news, arrive to our minds memories from Rolando and Ñeca:
Our first meetings to present plans and projects for the service in the SPLA in 2005 in Queretaro, Mexico, the
missionary visits to countries such as Bolivia, Paraguay, among others, the meeting of the Zone III in Curitiba, Brazil
when Eduardo and Ismari were Presidents, as others ones as theses, all these meetings full of apostolic activity and
missionary fervor and joy, full of economic hardships, but full of the spirit of missionary discipleship.

How not to remember his intellectual restlessness and study, we remember the topic about the
DULL that he gave us, topic touched by Holiness Francisco in his apostolic exhortation
EVANGELII GAUDIUM and which we transcribe the number 78. Thanks for motivating to us
Rolando.

“Here we discover a profound law of reality: that life is attained and matures in the measure
that it is offered up in order to give life to others. This is certainly what mission means” EG-10

del Santo Padre FRANCISCO
No a la acedia egoísta
No to selfishness and spiritual sloth
Apostolic Exhortation: EVANGELII GAUDIUM
of the Holy Father FRANCISCO
81. At a time when we most need a missionary dynamism which will bring salt and light to the world, many lay people
fear that they may be asked to undertake some apostolic work and they seek to avoid any responsibility that may take
away from their free time. For example, it has become very difficult today to find trained parish catechists willing to
persevere in this work for some years. Something similar is also happening with priests who are obsessed with protecting
their free time. This is frequently due to the fact that people feel an overbearing need to guard their personal freedom,
as though the task of evangelization was a dangerous poison rather than a joyful response to God’s love which summons
us to mission and makes us fulfilled and productive. Some resist giving themselves over completely to mission and thus
end up in a state of paralysis and acedia.
