of the Palladium Vallarta Resort & Spa in the Nayarit Riviera, Mexico, into a Grand Palladium Resort, featuring

Our Grand Palladium Resorts in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, will now feature a new children’s center that will
bring together the Mini Club and the Baby Club under one roof, making it one of the largest kid’s clubs in the Caribbean.
We’re also working on some important upgrades in our Ibiza hotels for next season, including the revamping of Fiesta
Hotel Don Carlos into a modern adults-only hotel, and the new state-of-the-art wellness center at the Palladium

Ayre Hoteles has recently inaugurated a third hotel in the city of Oviedo, a superior 4-star lodging integrated in the

in its premises, The Studio. It will be managed by King And Queen, a leading collec-tive

Blur, Alicia Keys and Primal Scream, and collaborated with one of the world’s top

will be completely refurbished in order to adapt it to the brand characteristics, while

For the second year in a row, the Ibiza
Beach Polo Cup, held on June 14-19,
became the meeting point of Ibiza’s
best. The tournament was sponsored
by Fiesta Hotel Group who hosted the
event in the company’s sports facili-ties
located in Playa d’en Bossa. The
Group also participated in the tourna-ment
through its Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach
Hotel team. The new hotel offered a wel-come
cocktail to present this year’s partici-pating
teams.
This Cup’s second edition, which has already become
one of the most important international events of
this sport, boasted a more complex staging including
a bigger VIP area, fashion shows and parties featur-ing
the live performance of ex-driver turned DJ Fonsi
Nieto. In addition, a female category was added this
year to the competition with four teams, along with
the six male teams that also participated.
Adolfo Cambiaso, one of the world’s most important
polo champions, has won the Fiesta Hotel Group Cup
with his team La Dolfina Polo Ranch beating the finalists
Nassay Beach Club. In the female category,

During the entire season, weekly events were held on
Ibiza’s most spectacular stage. SuperBeach by Super-martxé
featured its pansexual pool parties every Tues-day;
Swedish House Mafia presented the most talked-about
Wednesday events of the season; Luciano and
his Vagabundos brought the house down on Thursdays,
with Sasha & Friends working the crowds on alternate
nights, and the guys from Defected, the most impor-tant
house music label in the UK, also found their spot
in Ushuaïa on Saturdays.
The 7th of July marked a new beginning not only in
Ushuaïa but also on the White Isle. Usher, the king of
R&B, performed as Pete Tong’s special guest in the
Hotel’s first big event, sharing booth with Master DJ
David Guetta.
BBC Radio 1’s annual Ibiza weekend kicked off in Ush-uaïa
on August 5th. The event was broadcasted live to
10 million people, featuring hosts Pete Tong and Annie
Mac accompanied by some of the biggest names on
the music scene including Carl Cox, David Guetta, Eric
Morillo and many more.
Award-winning Kool & The Gang came down to Ush-uaïa
on August 7th with a soul and funky show, while
The Human League, one of the world’s best synth-pop
groups, took the audiences along an eighties music
tour on August 8th.
Ushuaïa bid farewell to its successful first season with
a huge celebration on October 1st with more than 12
hours of fantastic music, 6 of which presented Luciano
at his best, bringing the evening to an explosive climax.
Together with Reboot, Michel Cleis, Livio & Roby, Rob-ert
Dietz, Digitaline, Maayan Nidam, Francisco Allendes
and Paola Poletto, they presented a ground-shaking

Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel has been wowing guests
on the White Isle since its opening earlier this year.
The innovative hotel is decked out with the most up-to-
date decor and every corridor, bar and bedroom
is peppered with distinctive features which range
from the exquisitely beautiful, the luxurious to
the downright bizarre. So, it’s only fitting that
this bang-on trend hotel is accompanied by
the most popular social networking site in the
world: Facebook.
Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel has developed a Face-book
sharing initiative – a first for the hotel indus-try.
Hotel guests, and everyone who attends the
concerts, are given the option of wearing a slim
wristband with an RFID microchip which can be
synchronized with their Facebook account by log-ging
in at any of the touch screens located at the
three hotel entrances.
Once the wristband is activated, participants
just need to swipe it across the sensors located
on the pillars so they can safely share their
amazing Ushuaïa summer experience with all
their Facebook friends without the need
of any mobile devices.

Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel ha desarrollado una
iniciativa de Facebook única en el sector hote-lero:
los primeros en el mundo en traer la expe-riencia
online de una red social al mundo real de
un hotel. Tanto los huéspedes como los asisten-tes
a los conciertos que quieran participar, reci-ben
una pulsera con un microchip RFID. En las tres
entradas del hotel, encontrarán pantallas táctiles
de check-in donde podrán conectarse a su cuenta
de Facebook y activar sus pulseras.
Una vez activadas, sólo tendrán que pasar su pulse-ra
por el lector electrónico de los tótems y puestos de
check-in para que todos sus amigos en Facebook vean
cómo disfruta plenamente de su experiencia veraniega
musical en Ushuaïa, sin necesidad de disponer de nin-gún
dispositivo móvil y con total seguridad.

This initiative is just another example of how innovative
Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel has become within Spain’s
hotel industry. It will provide an amazing experience to
all Facebook fans who have found in Ushuaïa their new
source of entertainment in Ibiza.

Mallorca Rocks Hotel’s second season comes
to a close with outstanding results. More
than 40,000 fans enjoyed this year’s line-up
which included 17 concerts featur-ing
live performances from renowned
international artists such as 2ManyDjs,
Madness, Tinnie Tempah, Dizzie Ras-cal
and Fatboy Slim, who got everyone
dancing until midnight. The hotel occu-pancy
was also a success, reaching 100%
during the peak month of July.
This summer, Tuesday nights on the largest Balearic
island moved to the rhythms of Mallorca Rocks Hotel
in Magalluf. Audiences from all over the world were
amazed with this season’s line-up, which included 12
more concerts than last year, for a total of 17. Each
week, Mallorca Rocks Hotel offered really power-ful
performances that covered today’s most popular
genres, from indie rock to hip electronic music.

On the grounds of Oviedo’s old soccer stadi-um
“Carlos Tartiere,” the mighty Conference
and Exhibition Center Ciudad de Oviedo
has drawn a new city skyline since its
opening last May. Distributed in two
floors with several multipurpose confer-ence
rooms, the new building stands out
thanks to its modern and futuristic style
signed by the unmistakable Santiago Ca-latrava,
Spain’s most international architect.
The auditorium has a capacity of up to 2,150 per-sons
with a stage that measures more than 350 square
meters, making it one of the biggest assembly halls in
Spain. Fourteen modular rooms and more than 4.800 m2
of exhibition space that can be booked for any type of
event will definitely help promote the meetings industry
of the capital. The new Ayre Hotel Oviedo, the modern
shopping center Modoo and the administrative offices of
the government of the Principality of Asturias complete
the selection of services offered by this colossal archi-tectural
masterpiece that has already become a land-mark
in the city of Oviedo.
It is the most important civil work built in Asturias since
the Universidad Laboral of Gijón. The project started in
1999 and was blessed by Oviedo’s archbishop Jesús Sanz
Montes after 8 years of construction. Political party ral-lies,
car presentations and a dentist congress have already
chosen this unique venue to celebrate their events.

Calatrava, el arquitecto español más in-ternacional.
El auditorio tiene un aforo para 2.150 personas y
más de 350 metros cuadrados de escenario, siendo uno
de los más grandes de España. Catorce salas modula-res
y más de 4.800 m2 de espacios de exposición están
reservados para todo tipo de eventos impulsando así el
turismo de congresos en la capital. El Ayre Hotel Oviedo,
el centro comercial vanguardista Modoo y las oficinas
administrativas del gobierno del Principado completan
la cartera de servicios de esta obra colosal que se ha
convertido ya en referente para la ciudad ovetense.
Se trata de la mayor obra civil de Asturias desde la
Universidad Laboral de Gijón. Un proyecto iniciado en
el año 99 y que fue bendecido por el arzobispo de Ovie-do
Jesús Sanz Montes dando fin a 8 años de obras.
Mítines políticos, presentaciones de vehículos y un
congreso de odontología han elegido este marco úni-co
para el desarrollo de sus eventos. Si el vestíbulo de
entrada entusiasma, no menos el auditorio central.

corner of the building offers breathtaking views, and
thanks to its impressive functionality and dimensions,
the new Conference and Exhibition Center has become

Latest estimates place its economic impact between 90
and 100 million euros per year which means that the
Center can become an important source of growth for
the region and the Principality. This initiative is part of
a well-defined strategy created by Oviedo’s consistory
destined to promote cultural and business tourism. The

to more than 35,000 congress attendants that will be
coming to “El Calatrava,” as it’s popularly known.

If we had to list all the achievements of this Valencian
architect, including numerous awards, government and
university recognitions and exhibits around the world,
we would need much more than just one page. And
that doesn’t even include his actual work! Santiago Ca-latrava
is part of a select group of architects who are
real artists who are setting new standards all over the
world. His works are much more than simple architec-tural
projects, they make history.
But this history has a unique perspective. Every build-ing
and bridge that bears Calatrava’s name aims to
move the city where it is located into the future. His
idea is to bring these cities back to life and put them in
the limelight of a new global context. The City of Arts
and Sciences in Valencia, the Milwaukee Art Museum,
the train station in Liège (Belgium), and the bridge over
the Grand Canal in Venice are just some of the amazing
masterpieces of this unique and groundbreaking archi-tect
who received the Prince of Asturias Award for the
Arts in 1999.

ya que en tan sólo 2 años, se espera la llegada de has-ta
35.000 congresistas en los diversos eventos que se
esperan organizar en “El Calatrava”, como se le llama
popularmente al edificio.

Oviedo dates back to the year 761 when pres-byter
Máximo, his uncle, the abbot Fromesta-no,
and a group of servants settle on a hill
called Oveto and built a basilica in honor
of Saint Vincent.
During the Modern Era, Oviedo became
the political center of the Principality. As
a result, many palaces and stately man-sions
were built during the 17th and 18th
centuries which are now part of the city’s heri-tage:
Camposagrado Palace, Miranda-Heredia Pal-ace,
Toreno Palace, etc.
After the Spanish Civil War, the urban center became
densely populated and new suburban areas are devel-oped
for the working class. During the last decade, many
streets of the historic district have been pedestrianized
and several courtyards have been restructured.
0 PRINCE OF ASTURIAS AWARDS
The Awards are given by the Prince of Asturias Foun-dation,
which was created on September 24, 1980, in
Oviedo, in order to strengthen the ties between the Prin-cipality
and the Prince of Asturias by promoting the sci-entific,
cultural and humanistic values of the city which
are part of the world’s heritage.
The Awards are given every year in a formal ceremony
held at the Campoamor Theater of Oviedo as the world
turns its eyes towards this a city that becomes Spain’s
cultural capital during this special celebration. These
Awards honor the scientific, technical, cultural, social
and humanitarian achievements of individuals, work
teams and institutions all over the world.

1. Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias: Houses an inventory
of more than 8,000 works of art and is considered one of
the best public art collections in Spain, with masterpieces
that date from the Middle Ages to the present days.
2. Museum of Archeology: Located in the cloisters of the
Saint Vincent Benedictine monastery since 1952
3. Museum of the Church of Oviedo: Inaugurated in 1990,
it’s located in the High Cloisters, right above the
Gothic Cloisters of the San Salvador de Oviedo

El nacimiento de Oviedo se documenta en
el año 761, cuando el presbítero Máximo, su
tío el abad Fromestano y un grupo de sier-vos
se establecen en una colina llamada
Oveto y erigen una basílica dedicada a
San Vicente.
Durante la Edad Moderna, Oviedo se
convierte en el centro político del Princi-pado.
Se construyeron, por ello, numerosos
palacios o casa señoriales a lo largo de los
siglos XVII y XVIII, que constituyen hoy una parte
primordial del patrimonio monumental ovetense: pala-cio
de Camposagrado, palacio de Miranda-Heredia, pa-lacio
de Toreno, etc.
Tras la Guerra Civil Española se densifica el casco ur-bano
y surgen nuevos barrios para trabajadores en los
alrededores. En la última década se han peatonalizado
numerosas calles del núcleo histórico y se han reorgani-zado
diversas plazas.

Los Premios son otorgados por la Fundación Príncipe
de Asturias, que se constituyó el 24 de septiembre de
1980 en Oviedo, y que tiene como objetivos primordiales

Príncipe de Asturias, así como contribuir a la exaltación
y promoción de aquellos valores científicos, culturales y
humanísticos que son patrimonio universal.

Making sure that guests feel like home is extremely
important to us, so catering to people with food aller-gies
and diseases has become one of our most recent

Para nosotros conseguir que un huésped se sienta

y enfermedades alimentarias es una de nuestras

in the world doesn’t mean a thing if you
can’t eat anything in the restaurants. A
year ago we set out an important objec-tive
in all our Palladium and The Royal
Suites Resorts: Catering to the needs
of those who have these special dietary
conditions. All of our guests deserve our
attention and dedication, but we can all
agree that some need a special type of TLC.
We are currently offering in all of our Resorts
special menus with celiacs and food allergies in mind,
including our thematic ‘a la carte’ restaurants. It has
been a highly motivating team effort for all of us
and fortunately we had the support and advice
of national and international associations.
How can guests enjoy these services?
They should contact the hotel before
their visit, preferably by email. That way
we can offer more personalized ser-vices
and a special treatment. You can
find all our Resorts’ emails in our website
(www.fiestahotelgroup.com). In any case, as
long as they tell us what kind of food allergy or
disease they have when they check in, we’ll follow
up on it accordingly.
How are these services guaranteed at the Re-sorts?
Emailing us before their arrival helps us
get ready for their visit. One of our man-agers
will greet them at check-in and
explain how the Resort works and all
the services we offer. We’ll answer all
their questions and give them our busi-ness
cards so they can contact us at any
time. In addition, we give them an allergy-specific
Palladium Dietary Card. These use-ful
tools help us identify guests in any of our
restaurants or bars as they feature which allergies the
guest has and what food he/she cannot eat.
Celiac dishes do not contain any preservatives
and are free of all wheat, barley, rye and
oats products and derivatives. All dishes
for celiacs and people with food allergies
are prepared with special equipments
and are not mixed with any other foods.
What measurements are taken by the
Resorts to train their personnel?
We have strict quality standards and op-erational
processes that are common to all
Resorts but at the same time are adapted to
