2. Reported Speech
• El estilo indirecto, a diferencia del estilo directo, no utiliza las comillas y no necesita ser palabra
por palabra. En general, cuando se usa el estilo indirecto, el tiempo verbal cambia. A continuación
tienes un explicación de los cambios que sufren los tiempos verbales.
• A veces se usa "that" en las frases afirmativas y negativas para introducir lo que ha dicho la otra
persona. Por otro lado, en las frases interrogativas se puede usar "if" o "whether".
• Nota: Ten en cuenta también que las expresiones de tiempo cambian en el estilo indirecto. Fijate en
los cambios de tiempo en los ejemplos más abajo y después, encontrarás una tabla con más
explicaciones de los cambios de tiempo en el estilo indirecto.

4. Present participle
• The present participle is often used when we want to express an active action. In English we add -ing to the infinitive of the verb.
• 1.1. Use of the present participle
• Progressive Tenses
• He is reading a book.
• He was reading a book.
• Gerund
• Reading books is fun.
• He likes reading books.
• Adjective
• Look at the reading boy.
• Together with other words
• He came reading around the corner.
• He sat reading in the corner.
• I saw him reading.

5. Past participle
• The present participle is often used when we want to express a passive action. In English we add -ed to the infinitive of regular verbs. We use the 3rd column of the
table of the irregular verbs.
• 2.1. Use of the past participle
• Perfect Tenses
• He has forgotten the pencil.
• He had forgotten the pencil.
• Passiv voice
• A house is built.¿
• A house was built.
• Adjective
• Look at the washed car.
• Together with other words
• The car washed yesterday is blue.
• He had his car washed.

9. exive Pronouns (Pronombres reflexivos)
• Los pronombres reflexivos se usan cuando el sujeto y el complemento del
verbo son lo mismo. En inglés no se utilizan los verbos reflexivos tanto
como en español. En vez de verbos reflexivos, utilizamos uno de los
siguientes pronombres reflexivos.

11. Personal pronous
• Nota: En inglés no existe la forma "usted" o "ustedes" formal. Por lo
tanto los nativos de la lengua ni siquiera lo tienen conceptualizado
como una forma aquí llamada "formal". Se tiene que entender
entonces que la forma masculina, femenina y neutra son lo mismo,
lo único que las diferencia es el género.
Además, ten en cuenta que en inglés sólo existe una forma para
"tu" y "vosotros", "you", excepto en la forma reflexiva que distingue
entre el singular (yourself) y plural (yourselves).

13. Indefinite pronous
• An indefinite pronoun does not refer to any specific person, thing or amount. It is vague and "not definite". Some typical
indefinite pronouns are:
• all, another, any, anybody/anyone, anything, each, everybody/everyone, everything, few, many, nobody, none, one, several,
some, somebody/someone
• Note that many indefinite pronouns also function as other parts of speech. Look at "another" in the following sentences: He
has one job in the day and another at night. (pronoun)
• I'd like another drink, please. (adjective)
• Most indefinite pronouns are either singular or plural. However, some of them can be singular in one context and plural in
another. The most common indefinite pronouns are listed below, with examples, as singular, plural or singular/plural.
• Notice that a singular pronoun takes a singular verb AND that any personal pronoun should also agree (in number and
gender). Look at these examples:
• Each of the players has a doctor.
• I met two girls. One has given me her phone number.
• Similarly, plural pronouns need plural agreement:
• Many have expressed their views.
