1. STATIVE OR STATE VERBS
tiempos verbales continuos (present continuous, past continuous, etc). Por ejemplo
decimos I love you, no I am loving you.
Thinking:
imagine, understand, know, believe
Emotions:
hate, like, dislike, want, love, prefer
The human senses:
see, smell, sound, taste, hear
Appearance:
appear, look, resemble, seem
Relationships between things:
own, consist of, include, involve, belong to
cambia. Veamos algunos ejemplos:
Look
Stative: parecerse. Marcos looks like his mother.
Dynamic: estar realizando la acción. Marcos is looking at the shop window.
Be
significa comportarse o actuar.
Stative: you are stupid. Es parte de tu personalidad.
Dynamic: you are being stupid. Solo ahora, no normalmente.
Think
Stative: tener una opinion. I think that coffee is great.
Dynamic: considerer, tener en la cabeza. What are you thinking about? I'm thinking
about my next holiday.
Have
Stative: poseer. I have a car.
Dynamic: parte de una expresión. I'm having a party/a bath/a good time a break.
See
Stative: ver con tus ojos, entender. I see what you mean. I see her now, she's just coming
along the road.
Dynamic: conocer, tener una relación con. I've been seeing my boyfriend for three years.
I'm seeing Robert tomorrow.
Taste
Stative: tener gusto. This soup tastes great. The coffee tastes really bitter.
Dynamic: la acción de probar. The chef is tasting the sou.
I can hear a funny noise coming from the engine.
