2. Introduction
Salmonella
It is a bacterial genus of the
Enterobacteriaceae family consisting of
anaerobic intracellular gram-negative
bacilli.
Exposed persons may experience
severe or mild diarrhea, fever, vomiting
and in some cases bloodstream
infections that can be very serious,
especially in children or the elderly.
3. Introduction
• Salmonella isolates resistant to three or more classes of
antibiotics were defined as MDR phenotypes.
• The widespread use of antibiotics in veterinary and
food animal production can increase the emergence of
strains. Thus, the resistant strains can be trans- mitted
to humans through the food chain.
Multidrug-resistance
4. General Objective
Determine the frequency and
characterization of Salmonella
isolates from food-producing
animals and human diarrheal
samples in Shiraz, Iran.
5. Métodos
Aislamiento y serotipado PCR
Implica el uso de fragmentos cortos
de ADN donde se basa en la
amplificación enzimática in vitro, es
el incremento geométrico del
numero de copias de una
secuencia particular del ADN.
Para diagnosticar la Salmonella y
cambios genéticos, ya que las
pruebas detectan el ADN o el ARN
de un patógeno o células
anormales en la muestra.
Son designados a partir de la base
de la inmunorreactividad de dos
estructuras de la superficie celular:
los antígenos somáticos y
flagelares; donde algunas cepas
presentan un tercer antígeno (K o
Vi).
Se utiliza para diferenciar cepas de
Salmonella más allá del nivel de
subespecie.
6. Métodos
En la electroforesis en gel de
campo cruzado, se usan enzimas
de restrincion para generar
fragmentos en las muestras; los
cuales dan unos perfiles
electroforeicos permitiendo así
diferenciar un organismo de otro.
Para identificar que todos las sepas
involucradas sean iguales o
distintas.
Susceptibilidad
antimicrobiana
Patrones PFGE
Se da a partir de la exposición de
una concentración del germen a
estos fármacos y estas se realizan
in vitro, donde no se tienen en
cuenta numerosos factores que
afectan al fármaco in vivo.
Para determinar los perfiles de
susceptibilidad antimicrobiana de
los aislados de ETN.
9. A. Ghoddusi According to the findings, the prevalence of S. Infantis
has increased in recent years in Iran and has become
endemic in the poultry industry.
X. Yan At the global level, Salmonella frequency of 70% in
chicken meat is higher compared to the other reports
from various countries, such as China (36.7%).
Z.R. Nadi Contaminated foods of animal origin are identified as the
main cause of human salmonellosis. Nowadays, chicken
meat is recognized as the predominant vehicle for the
transmission of Salmonella.

10. Conclusions
§ Molecular biology through the articles and especially
the methods used, help in the prevention of many
diseases, which in this case is Salmonella.
§ The molecular biology techniques used in the article
were used to analyze, detect and identify both
microorganisms and different genotypes within the
same species and resistance genes with respect to
Salmonella.
