- #14 Play video through 2:10. Talk through the questions. Then, play video 3 times. Have students fill out the first column of the chart individually. Then, share with partner. Anything new that the partner heard should be written down. Can write in English or Spanish. It doesn’t matter. I made this handout as a ½ sheet. You can copy it or you could just have them write it on a piece of paper. Doesn’t matter.

- #16 This is the written script. There was one word I wasn’t quite sure what she was saying at the end. Have students read the script and write down more words they understand. limosnas= it means what you beg for… kind of like “alms” for the poor… Funny because you are about to teach that word in la Gitanilla this week! :)
- #17 After reading this slide and writing down more words that they understand, discuss as a class what they heard. Focus on main idea. Ask students if their opinion is similar or different than the kids in the video.
- #19 Exit Slip: Give each student post-it notes and have them finish the sentences. I am going to give my students two post-its each but you could just give them one. I am going to have them put these on a bulletin board.
